Steam Controller Bugs (new donation menus)

I cannot figure out how to

1. Consign a Kubrow/Kavat

or

2 Donate resources to my guild

and both issues are related to the new and improved confirmation screen which occurs before giving up said resources and/or kubrow/kavat.

In situation 1, the confirmation screen comes up and I'm able to enter the name of the pet but I am returned to my orbiter without any actual change happening.

In situation 2, the confirmation screen only presents a partial incomplete word (which I'm assuming is the confirmation code) and seems to fail to recognize that I have typed in exactly what it asked of me.
