Well, I'm in the process of formatting my computer, and in that I want to back up the warframe, so does anyone 
tell me what directory the game is? I use the non-steam launcher

Hi, @MrManeco .
Well, what you can do to find where the game directory is placed is right-click on your Warframe Launcher shortcut and click on "Open File Location". there you can find all of your Warframe game files.

I don't know but my guess is:

• Program Files (x86) -> Digital Extremes -> Warframe

Otherwise you might want to try to search for Warframe.exe in your Program Files folder.

I did what you said and the directory I dropped was the following

C:\Users\(my name :P)\AppData\Local\Warframe\Downloaded\Public\Tools

You can reinstall the game from the website without losing a single information. Your account is safely stored on DE's servers.

Well @MrManeco, then do what Kialandi said. Search for try to search for Warframe.exe in your Program Files folder or in your File Explorer.

If you have a desktop shortcut, you can see the target path in the properties.

what I found was one installed by steam that had already given error so I reinstalled with the original launcher

How big is your "Warframe" folder? 

-> C:\Users\YOUR_NAME_HERE\AppData\Local\Warframe\

I've read that it might be installed there. Mine is just 250 MB for example.

Hmm...

Then try to search for "Cache.Windows" folder. That's where most of Warframe files are for Steam version.

Or try to search for "B.Font.cache" file. That's one of the files. I doubt that Steam and Non-Steam version have different types or names of files.

Otherwise I don't know what else to do.

If you’re already formatting your computer why not also bite the bullet and reinstall a fresh Warframe?  Sounds like your install is a tangled mess.
