Orb vallis jackal

so, before the hotfix deployed, I encountered a jackal out in the vallis; it didn't operate like the jackal usually does, as its legs were still invulnerable. I couldn't figure out how to damage it at all (my best guess was damaging it from behind, which seemed to work but not nearly consistently enough for me to confirm). If anyone knows how these jackals work, or what they drop, I'd appreciate the info.

It was a Jackal, a Lynx or a Razorback?

The last few jackals i've killed worked like normal mobs.

Shoot anywhere -> its dead

I think those Jackals have a short invincibility period after spawning, past that they're vincible enough.
