Salenstormwing Posted November 9, 2018 Share Posted November 9, 2018 I can't tell the difference between the new mining laser and the best PoE one, except the new laser can get Fortuna gems. EquestrianWyvern Posted November 9, 2018 Share Posted November 9, 2018 (edited) From a random bit of testing I was doing because someone asked me this exact same question: It definitely provides Both Nyth and Sentrium on the plains It can give more than one type of resource from a single vein Nyth and Sentrium can be obtained from Red Ore Veins and Blue Gem Veins Either the laser has a much higher chance of giving the rare gems or I was on an absurd streak getting 5 rare gems in the span of 10 minutes. I too was taken aback by not being able to dual equip 2 different mining lasers, but if they are compatible for mining both ways why bother lmao. This would cause quite a bit of salt with the veterans of the game; given that the SPD has the locational information on the mini-map as the Advanced Nosram Cutter without the need for the grind for new players coming into the game. This had been tested with a friend that hadn't done the grind through Ostron rankings and could see everything both on Vallis and Plains with the SPD. Also the Advanced Nosram Cutter can't be used to obtain Zodian and Thyst from veins/mining nodes on Venus. Basically this is bad juju all the way around.
