That because Ember deals damage over time while crush is one single hit. 

What level enemies are you planning on going up against? That matters a lot.

Yeah the continuity thing is the factor that made ember's ulti do more dmg overall. i ended up doing it vs a corpus tech and comparing mag, ember, and saryn. I kno it isn't apples to apples but ember's is more energy efficient and did more dmg. None of them killed the tech but it is a fun video anyway haha. gonna link when done uploading

mine was more for fun!  it was more of an ember fan thread lol, but i'm not complaining, i still don't know what's generally allowed or not on these forums.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, NOT THE AMMO BOXES! I NEED THEM! How I am supposed to level up the worst weapons of the game if I keep running out of ammo D:

 

What about defense? How will I survive such onslaughts if I cant resupply at later waves!?!

umm I don't know take your time... switch between guns, open lockers and get more ammo... kill people and get more ammo... ammo mutation...
