leveling sentinel weapons

I finished building my moa today and figured i would finally start looking at the sentinel weapons to try and give it something good. But they are very slow to level. Went from unranked to level 1 after 30 or 40 waves at helene. Then i tried taking it to a spy mission cause those usually give a nice chunk of exp to everything. All my other equipment got around 20,000 but the sentinel weapon only got 300... So like how do i efficiently level these things?

That seems ... very wrong, and not like anything I ever experienced.

Did you trigger the AFK detection or anything?
Was there a Host Migration?
Did you play solo?

No clue, I decided to finally level the Laser Rifle with my Moa. Moa is 30, two full sets of weapons are 30, the Laser Rifle is 75% through level 1, almost level 2.

Set to public, do 10 - 20 waves on Hydron. :p

I feel like something is missing as well. Maybe no attack precept so it's not being "triggered"? It levels like everything else and Hydron is the spot.

I leveled my sentinel and weapons at Hydron.
 

There is 2 ways sentinel and weapon can obtain EXP

1 - Direct kill from sentinel weapon, which given the clunky AI 
leveling it fast is not dependable on this method

2 - Teammate's kill and XP share gained.


My usual trick is use something like DPS Mag or Frost at Hydron
and spam 4 at regular interval.

Soloing really is very slow even with spy missions.

While using other frames might deal less damage and let your squad do all the work, 
but this also increases the risk of people leveling weapons not being able to level their item decently fast
and leaving the public session early.

a DPS frame can more or less carry the team for 10 - 20 waves
that accompanied with energizing dash and killing enemies fast enough to keep teammates alive.
which 2 - 3 sessions of Hydron can level max sentinel + weapons.

going to hydron is the one of the fastest ways to lvl just about anything, but it seems that atm the moa doesn't give the xp to the weapon, if you just use a sentinel it does work like normal

i can confirm also.. kitgun leveled in elite onslaught from 5 to 23 and Tazicor has some progress but not enough to reach next level

so take your good old sentinel to level these weapons and you are fine.. maxed mine in 4 zones of onslaught
