"last Chance" Gear Faq.

Recommended Posts

We've been getting lots of questions about the "Last Chance" Gear, the purpose of the thread is to keep tabs on all the questions and information regarding Gear.

1) What does it mean that there is "Last Chance" Gear?

We are overhauling the Gear system in Warframe. The current system of getting Gear needs to be updated.

2) What happens to my old Gear when the new system comes?

You will still be able to use all Gear - it will carry over to the new system.

3) Should I stock up on Gear while I can?

It's up to you. We will be making this type of content available in a different way in the new system, so it's not like you will never again be able to get Gear!

4) What is the new Gear system going to be?

We are eying the Foundry as the method of acquiring Gear.

Could we finally get the option of buying/selling in stacks when the new system comes? Could we? It's really important..

Great, now I'll have to farm resources for gear too. Don't expect me to be enthusiastic about it.

Even so, thank you for informing us about these changes. Far better than to be kept in the dark.

Edit: 12 hours to craft 1 ammo box?

Mmm. Not sure that I like MORE crafting, I mean, I always kinda looked at gear as being credit sinks possibly (you know, for more useful gear maybe)

Gear costs to little to be a credit sink. Considering they're looking at craftable gear (I had a feeling they would... I thought out what they might do, as apposed to screaming "ITS GONNA BE PLAT ONLY NOW I QUIT") It can actually be worthy of calling a credit sink with adjusted blueprint and crafting costs.

Well, yeah what we have NOW costs too little, but eh. I hope the crafting doesn't require mats, or atleast not rare ones, getting reeeeaaaaaal sick of everything needing rare mats tbh, especially in excessive numbers (8 for dual vasto, 6 for the hind, etc)

I actually want to see this become the primary tool for ammo. Eliminate ammo drops, but make it relatively easy to craft ammo boxes (easily obtainable resources and no craft time). This will be a step towards balancing melee and gunplay. Melee will become viable to a degree. Also, I like how they're working towards a new type of economy that doesn't involve credits.

Materials aren't really a source of - Laying around, throw it in the garbage and nobody cares type of items...

Materials are rare, they're hard to come by, with Dojo building, weapons building, frames building. All this make Mats sinks REALLY fast. Meaning, IMO another Material sink is completely unnecessary.

On the other hand.

Credits have always been an overflowing "problem". After you acquired a complete set of mods, bought all the blueprints you needed...Credits just sits there. The only useful cash sink was the buying Gear system. Turning Gear into a Foundry system seems...Tying your shoelaces together and try to run a marathon?

Not to mention to the new mod system, now that we will only be needing possible 2 mod of the same type max. Fusing mods won't be a decent cash sink anymore. With all this happening, I can only assume that our credits count will go off the roof as it already had.

Honestly, I was hoping to see DE implement a bundle option to use Credits to buy Gear, instead of buying 1 at a time. But with this new update, it feels like it's breaking the economy system.

UNLESS

You're trying to give us a surprise by implementing Credits will be able to purchase materials. Other than that, I don't see how making Gear Foundry-able will have any good impact on the game.

While that is true, I refuse to believe that you don't have enough ferrite or nano spores. They could be converted into a one-for-one, one ferrite leads to one bullet. The Devs have already stated that they want to step away from a credit economy. I think this is an interesting way to do this. Instead of having additional credits to purchase blueprints, all the blueprints could be readily available. One would only need to craft the item in question if they had enough materials.

I personally own a Shadow Clan. I hate being a part of a huge major top cooperation. Some top clans. I'm tired of boss around, or even have to be active all the time, because I don't want to. I have a life, I have other games. Thus I made my own clan, dojo. I will build my own weapons, my own rooms. And the achievements I get, will be my own. Instead of being top of the leader board while in fact it's somebody's hard work.

My point: I already don't have enough materials to go around for everything. I shouldn't be "punished"  and further push into the whole "lack mats" situation while all I'm trying to do is to be self-sustain, and earn up to what I actually achieved.

all the gear is useless lol

Roll with a Supra/ Gorgon/ Miter/ Dual Viper/ Afuris etc. Without ammo boxes. And actually being very useful to the team. Then tell me, ammo boxes are useless.

Ciphers saves time, saves time on Nightmare mission, saves time on fixing the airlock because some idiots blew it open.

Health items works wonders when you're out of revive and no platinum to refresh it. It can also get you out of a pinch when you desperately need health. Team heal is also useful when you're rolling with bunch of weak fragile Frames with no Trinity or lack of Health/Energy drops.

Only noobs/newbs will think Gear are useless.

Proof: I was a noob once, then I thought gear are pointless. Now that I got good, gear became near essential to a successful fast mission of maximum profit.
