Download issue after hotfix

After the first hotfix that came after fortuna, my launcher is stuck at the "checking for new content" phase. I had hoped a new hotfix after that would fix it but still the same problem. Previously at 199.6kb, now at 236.8kb. I have tried everything I can think of. Running 32bit, different language modes, verifying cache, restarting, using a VPN, etc. But nothing works. Re-installing is not really an option with my 1995 internet. I saw some people had this issue in the past and was wondering if I'm the only one having it now.
