Ranked up Vox Solaris - Lost spare Toroids

I was at 4k / 5k Vox Solaris standing with 2 Calda Toroids, 2 Sola Toroids, and 0 Vega Toroids. I solo farmed the Spaceport till I got 3 Vega Toroids, and returned to Fortuna.  
  
I handed in 1 Vega Toroid (I couldn't hand in the other 6 of my Toroids even if I wanted to), looked through a few of the Rank Up rewards, and chose the Outrider Pauldrons. After returning to my Orbiter to see what other parts I needed for Garuda, I noticed that my other 6 Toroids had vanished

rank-up requires 2 Calda Toroids, 2 Sola Toroids, and 2 Vega Toroids as a sacrifice.
