Maybe they decided to just make the game in the usual style of "sword and magic", but based on the plot of LotR?

Let's wait for more detailed news.

There's a new LotR series coming I believe.. it's been in the news bc some jerks are upset they're adding dark skinned elves and saying it's ruining the lore.. sigh..

I dunno about Witcher, I quit following after that Trainwreck Gestalt photo release lol. I'll probably check out LotR as long as it isn't on some service like Amazon Prime.

I use your service for shopping Amazon, not to watch TV, I have Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll like a sane person!

Netflix is pretty sane(they have such great things as death note live action movie that did so well)but I m not sure about other mentions,i use none of them just some open-source streams but that is because of bad and limited internet here.
I mean if i had netflix i would hit 290gb datacap in single week

I'm maybe not perfectly on-topic but figured people here will know such cool youtubers.

I may suggest you take a look at two people, one is Xzorn which did a pretty nice series of solo endurance runs with a lot of frames (if you're into that). Otherwise there is Summit which does some pretty nice theory crafting and some nuts runs both solo and in group.

290 GB? Oh you poor soul... I couldn't imagine, I thought the 1000GB cap they put on me at Comcast was horrible enough, I had to break down and pay the extra $25 for unlimited.

Maybe, if DE asked them to play the game for a hundred hours or so (maybe even finish the second dream) and then make videos on Youtube, it would put out a better image of the game as we know it?

Wouldn't change the outcome I suppose.

I was just watching an Official Warframe Partner (above MR20, 1500hours in-mission time) on Twitch playing Saryn, getting downed every minute, not using her 3 and barely using her 1 and telling false information.

Their Moderator seems to be MR5 and answering questions in Chat...like "Redirection is better than Vitality on all frames because it refills"

It's just about "spread the word" mentality

If all the sponsored YouTubers have to wait for weeks, then all the non-sponsored ones will just release their reviews and no one will bother watching when the sponsored reviews comes out. There's a reason professional reviewers hates companies that won't give them early review codes in advance of release: because it's well known in the industry that people only watch reviews in the first short period immediately after release and if you sleep on a review, you'll loose revenue.

So unless DE could somehow gives those sponsored YouTubers early access to try major releases like this before the rest of us, it really wouldn't be fair to demand it from them.

So, what I had in mind when I started this thread was the review system that the latest God Of War game used. They called in Youtubers and reviewers to come and play the game to the end, and then make a review about it. This was about 60 odd hours of gameplay per reviewer. So, I was wondering if that was possible to do for Warframe instead of getting people to play using a R0 starter frame on fortuna. Of course, no one finishes Warframe, which is why I thought that maybe atleast playing till they finished a few cinematic quests would be a good idea. If they focused on it, it could be done in about 150-200 hours of gameplay. But then again, these two games are very different in the way they have to be played. The main problem, in my opinion, is that I don't believe new players want to see other players starting from scratch. They'll get to experience that as soon as they download Warframe and start playing. What they would really need is a comprehensive review of a majority of the game's important mechanics and a reassurance that it is worth their time by showing something that's really interesting about the game. Also, to a new player, Fortuna is just as new as Plains of Eidolon or Arbitrations or some godforsaken sortie; which is what bothers me about new players streaming or making videos sponsored by warframe and just doing beginner stuff without any explanations and just having "fun" getting killed a thousand times over

Hey!

This is just my opinion on what I've been seeing recently. Not that I know much about marketing and stuff.

Recently, after the release of Fortuna, many Youtubers who have been sponsored by DE to try Warframe have been making review videos of the game. I understand that it is to help increase the reach and popularity of the game. But, most of these videos I saw were made after just a handful of hours of gameplay...essentially as a new player. Due to this, I'm not sure if they are really able to convey how much there is about the game that we love. Maybe, if DE asked them to play the game for a hundred hours or so (maybe even finish the second dream) and then make videos on Youtube, it would put out a better image of the game as we know it? (Again, I don't even know if it's a reasonable thing to ask of sponsored reviewers, but this is just my opinion).

Not happening and definitely not necessary. We don't need comprehensive reviews for a game most of us still don't even know how to describe to other players. It probably wouldn't even help. I got into Warframe from a video just like the ones you described. You don't need a lot to bring in new players. The game simply looks fun when you watch other people bullet jumping and shooting things. Retaining players is an entirely different story tho.
