Streamline the relic intermission screen in endless fissures, please. They can take more than one solid minute to go through.

Okay, there's a reason I dislike doing endless fissure mission for one specific reason. Everytime you complete a rotation, you have to spend nearly one minute everytime just to pick a new relic due to lengthy intermission screen, here is now it flows:

  • You complete a rotation, Lotus will talk over you for perhaps 5-10 seconds.
  • You enter into the relic intermission screen which takes 5 seconds.
  • You pick one of the four reward for 15 seconds.
  • You have to pick the relic you're using which lasts for 20 seconds, you can speed this up depending on how fast your team picks a relic, so let's pick an average of 10 seconds.
  • You still have to choose whether you want to continue or extract which takes 15 seconds (thankfully only on certain missions). Credit where it's due though, you can speed this up if all players pick the same option, but if not, you'll have to sit out 15 seconds.
  • You finally get back to gameplay with a countdown that lasts for yet another 5 seconds.

That's roughly 45-60 seconds of downtime depending on your mission type and how fast your squad picks a relic. Nearly one solid minute of unskippable intermission screen every rotation in an endless mission is detrimental to the gameplay flow. It's the same reason Arena spam is so unpopular compared to Arbitrations, there's too many unskippable intermission screens (loading in and out, in Arena's case) that just keeps on interrupting the flow of the game.

Let's fix that. Here's some ideas:

  • Have the Lotus talk while the intermission screen begins instead. That will cut down 5-10 seconds off.
  • Players are already plenty in focus when the intermission countdown begins, so a 5 second countdown is pretty pointless and can be shaved off instead.
  • They can compile all reward picking screen into the end of the mission. That effectively cuts down the intermission screen by at least 15 seconds out of all rotations.

And with that, roughly 25-30 seconds are saved from each intermission screen. With only 20-35 seconds of downtime, the intermission screen would be in a much better place.

Any plans to address this?

What would you have DE do? Strip the game down to an idle clicker?

That 5 seconds at the start is also when enemies could be right next to you.

That same 5 seconds lets you focus back on the game when there are enemies potentially near you.

What is your suggestion here? Would you rather the game choose for you or accept this take time to look at what others got and choose the reward and then choose from the not insignificant amount of Relics you have, which already has the rest of the time skipped if everyone picks a Relic before time ends?

The game has to allow for the fact you may not be in a group of like minded people. Do you want to stay? I may want to stay if everyone else stays but not if anyone leaves.

Imagine how much time you'd save by not playing video games!

Here's some suggestions I have in mind.

And with that, roughly 25-30 seconds are saved from each intermission screen. With only 20-35 seconds of downtime, what would be your suggestion to further improve upon these?

Uh, no. Depending on what my squad gets from a relic, that can affect what relic(s) we choose to open next.
