Warframe Concept: Lyca, The Werewolf Warframe

So, I have been pretty much creating Warframe concepts around a certain theme. That theme is mainly death and creatures of the dark. Lyca is a combination of both. Enjoy!

 

Warframe Name: Lyca

Warframe Title: The Werewolf Warframe

Warframe Nicknames: The Wolf, The Lycan

Abilities: Lunging Bite, Pack Alpha, Crippling Howl, Lycanthropy

Passive: Cursed Soul

Personal Kubrows: Sirius and Lupin

 

Stats:

Health: 105 -> 305

Shield: 115 -> 315

Energy: 150 -> 350

Armor: 100

Sprint Speed: 1.10

 

Mod Polarity:

  • Aura: Naramon

  • Two Vazurin

  • One Madurai

 

Lunging Bite: Lyca lunges at a selected target and bites them with her fangs dealing 50/100/150/200 damage and knocks them down. This Ability can be held to incapacitate a target.

Energy cost: 25

Mods that Affect Ability: Strength, Duration (incapacitation) and Range mods

 

Pack Alpha: Cycle through three different commands for Sirius and Lupin. Attack has Sirius and Lupin lunge at any target they see. Rally has Sirius and Lupin howl. Any allied Kubrow within the howl range gains increased damage. Retrieve has Sirius  and Lupin bring items dropped from enemies to their master. Items retrieved are ammo, health and energy.

Energy cost: 50

Mods that Affect Ability: none

 

Crippling Howl: Lyca lets out a howl that weakens enemies defenses by 25% (Armor for Grineer, Shields for Corpus). Killing affected enemies grants increased crit damage.

Energy cost: 75

Mods that Affect Ability: Duration and Range mods

 

Lycanthropy: Transform into your inner Wolf and rip apart your enemies. Lyca's movement speed and damage is increased but she is more vulnerable to damage.

Energy cost: 100

Mods that Affect Ability: Strength and Duration mods

 

Passive Ability: Cursed Soul

Lyca carries a dreaded curse wherever she roams. Enemies killed by her have a chance of turning into a ghostly Kubrow that lasts for 15 seconds.

 

How to obtain: The Wolves of Earth Quest

 

Wolves of Earth Quest:

The Lotus has received word that a large number of Grineer camps have been ransacked across Earth. Investigate this odd occurrence, but watch out. The Grineer are out for vengeance.

Shepra: A long lost bow crafted for Lyca. Fire off arrows that split apart after being fired.

 

Masti: A burst fire pistol that belongs to Lyca. Pulling the trigger fires off a burst that lock onto enemies within field of vision.

 

Lore: Wolves have always been an Apex predator in the cold snowy regions on Earth. The Orokin took this into account when they designed Lyca. Lyca proved useful in hunting down lone Sentients and bringing her kill back to her Orokin masters. When the Tenno rose above the Orokin and slaughtered them, Lyca was lost to the snow capped Himalayan mountain range. Wolves now prowl the mountains, as if they are protecting something. The Grineer were foolish to set up camps in those mountains. The weather and wolves have proven that. Endure the cold Tenno, Lyca waits for you.

 

Info: Lyca is designed to be Khora's counterpart/sister. Lyca shows some wolf like appearance when Lycanthropy isn't active. Her helmet will change when Lycanthropy is active. Ears will pop up and the lower half of the helmet will open into a jaw like shape. Lyca's 'eyes’ will also change from circles to crescents to emphasize anger. Lyca's back will hide a tail that comes out when Lycanthropy is active. When channeling energy with a melee weapon, Lyca's eyes, jaw, claws and certain lines along her body will glow. Lyca's claws will grow out when Lycanthropy is activated.

fairly strong concept although some of your abilities seem ripped off directly from valkyr & khora. (not necessarily a bad thing)

and your shields / health / energy numbers are way off unless you're showing them as under the effects of a full vitality / redirection / flow.

The concept is good but the abilities might need a few tweaking. Seems too similar to Khora except her 4 which might be compared to Valkyr. Her passive seems like a reverse of Mirage's 3. Except for some of Earth's missions, almost every mission's night/day cycle doesn't change. Guess this could be a good thing for your ability since you can plan ahead with your mods, the problem however is that a lot of missions (like Saturn missions) take place in spaceships where there is no sunlight or moonlight which would render her passive useless. Earth might be the only place you get moonlight but then again when you go to Lua, are you getting sunlight or moonlight?

When I was creating Lyca, I wasn't truly putting a lot of backbone into it. Yes, some of her abilites are similar to Khora and Valkyr, which I fully intend to rework so that they are unique to Lyca. As for the passive, I will have to rehaul it just to make it interesting. I do have another concept floating around the Forums. Look for Xerxia, the Bioweapon Warframe

Yeah, the stats were under Vitality, Redirection and Flow, but not all the way full. If Lyca was ever to be in the game, her Health would be at a 705 with a full Vitality, Shields would be at a 715 with a full Redirection, and Energy would be close to 595 with a full Flow attached to her.
