No Headshot Sound

Pretty straightforward, the headshot "crunch" sound effect doesn't activate upon headshot. I've toggled the settings for hit sounds, re-installed the game thrice (one from steam, another from the standalone client, and another by getting the files from someone's else's pc), and verified integrity of game cache through the launcher. No dice for any of these attempts.

Please look into it?

Ok so upon further testing, I found out something really strange. Among some weapons I own, the hitsound doesn't register on the vectis prime, baza, dread, sybaris prime, or tiberon prime; but triggers on the amprex and the supra vandal.
