GAZE Status Not Effected by Multishot

That would be because it's a beam weapon, and beam weapons are affected differently by multishot.

Multishot increases status by increasing the number of bullets. Beams retain the number of beams they fire, so no status improvements from multishot. It's basically a second damage mod for them.

Yep, Multishot is just a damage multiplier for beam weapons though the mods are still worth using in most cases.

Kinda says something about how strong multishot is...

Gaze is primarily a base Puncture weighted weapon. Most beam weapons are elemental. Why it doesn't quite feel like it shreds as others do. Either way mine is still getting the fastest kill speed on a lvl 160 Napalm out of the 4 kitguns. So, it's not " that " lacking.

Does this mean, multishot on a beam weapon will be treated as part of Base Damage calculations, for example on Slash Procs?

I think so. I've not done extensive testing since I'm not particularly into beam weapons, it's a tidbit I've picked up over time.
