Fortuna fishing mini-game occasionally doesn't register input

Occasionally while fishing with Stunna in Vallis the mini-game won't register my mouse clicks. Sometimes it works fine, and then sometimes it's like i'm not clicking (although I am). Posted a video, and in the second fishing attempt I'm clicking like mad, but no response from minigame.

Am I missing some mechanic or does it just occasionally glitch out on me?
