New frames/primes represent cash flow. Reworks do happen. There's like 3 in the pipe right now. I personally look forward to titania and the nyx rework.

More and more Warframes for what? do the same in the game again and again but with new characters? ... a game is not only its characters but its game mechanics and its CONTENT in general and that's what I say, I prefer the content that makes me fall in love of the game more than simple filling characters that serve to keep the return of the players who already have everything, I prefer new interesting mechanics, adventures or remasterializations of maps etc, everything that makes the game have an interesting universe and rich in content , I do not call attention to more and more of the same thing to do the same thing again and again. 👍

It's also called Warframe as in singular, not Warframes as in plural. So by that logic there should only be Excalibur.

Generally speaking, I feel like they've been decent at doing a rework of an old frame when the prime variant comes out. And pretty much whenever they release a new frame now, they also release a new prime frame. Which means every new frame tends to be paired with a rework of an older frame. This seems pretty good to me. I think Wukong wants a rework and with Wukong Prime might get one.

As someone neither new nor old (I’ve been playing ~1.25 years) the release of Warframes isn’t that important to me.  Ofc I love using them, and I like to bring each of my frames out when I can.  People say atlas is trash and nobody uses him, but he is my favorite and go to for sorties.  Personally, I think DE is doing a great job, especially for a free game where everything can be farmed free of charge.  If you think this game is just a money grab, then why are you here, why play it?  If not, then play the game, have fun, and feel free to support DE with a little spare cash every once in a while.

Honestly, I too little bit tired from constant stream of "new content", especially when its just another soulless mastery fodder weapon or boring/ugly frame, more or less copying existing ones abilites. 

May be this is my thing only, but older (lets say "1st generation") frames we more inspired, artisticly and mechanicly valid, like ol good exc, rhino, loki, frost, trinity, valkyr...

Frames like khora, this new mushroomhead, vampyre lady... are complete meh, and I see even more fantasy lacking with upcoming ones. Feels like DE creativity little bit dried out, but they just forced to make new ones.

With all due respect I kinda agree with the fact that we have too many Warframes. The thing is DE can't stop adding new Warframes, new content, new skins, fix bugs, etc. They have to be capable to do everything or else some part of the game will end up failing.

I could argue that we have way too many Warframes coming up (which was confirmed DE Scott in one of the latest videos from Tactical Potato). We have 6 new Warframes in the pipeline at this point (not counting Primes) but asking DE to stop adding new Warframes is basically something to point and laugh at.

Regarding the amount of Warframes in the game at the moment :

Do I think it's too much? Yes, but mostly because I see this amount as just Warframes, and these by themselves are not content - you farm the parts, you build them (or buy them to skip the process), raise them to 30, get a few forma in to make a proper build and done - this process, usually, takes a day at best on an experienced player's hand and then, if you like the warframe then you keep playing it, otherwise it's just tossed to the backburner until you have a reason to touch it again.

Assuming these new Warframes get added with actual content then I can't see any possible complaint but, considering 2018 was plagued with a content drought which DE Steve himself even admitted to, it's natural people get fearful over another one.

If anything, I fear DE might be overworking themselves with making new Warframes their priority instead of actual content to play with the ones we already got (I mean... I'm still waiting on a friggin' Hydroid Prime trailer and that's just 1 of their departments). That's my point of view though.

I forgot the Deluxes too. So yeah, I feel like, if they're revisiting old frames when Deluxe skins come out, and/or when Primed versions come out, there is a good amount of attention being paid to older frames. A game needs some constant drip of new content, and while I'd agree that more mission types or other stuff instead of frames might be ideal, the fact that new warframes keep coming clearly hasn't stopped them from looking back at older frames.

I can understand the OP's point, it's a bit overwhelming, especially if you're a completionist and you have the psychological urge to collect 'em all.

All I can say is that you'll soon get used to it.  In fact, when it comes to the point that you get bored with the grind and go off and play other games for a while, or do other stuff, then come back to Warframe, you'll really appreciate the fact that the game has new things to collect and do.

You might be able to sell Limbo and Mirage as casters as it sort of fits.

Mirage being an Illusion specialist, Limbo being a transmutation and abjuration caster.

Nekros and Trinity may also work. (Nekros being necromancy and Trinity being healing/divine/necromancy depending on how WoW takes healing magic)

 

Really any frame could be argued as a caster as they all have a casting animation for their abilities but these 4 are your best bet if you want to make a strong case.

OP, with any luck, Railjack is a success with a reworked archwing. Then they will focus on dozens of new archwings and ship parts instead of doubling down on warframes in 2020.

Although I understand its a huge income for the devs, I think there is enough frames now as well.

There is an easy solution to this though, in my opinion. Give frames specs, which also need to be farmed.

For example, currently for Nidus you do Glast Gambit for BP, and then need to farm the parts to build him. But lets say he gets an alternative healing spec as well. 

This could still be purchased for plat, maybe have a slight visual change as well (to justify the cost), but could also be farmed much like current frames are. Then his abilities would be altered where he uses the infestation to boost energy, and also heal members (much like trinity currently).

Each frame could be given multiple specs changing how they play, and also their roles. As it stands, there are soooo many different frames, but I think introducing different play-styles to existing frames, using their current aesthetic, would be a good middle ground for both earning income for devs, but also not adding more on top of the multitude we already have.

But noooo, needs to remove expansion of the actual thing the game is named after and causes them to get some revenue.

I agree--so long as the frames they create don't offer anything new or just feel like a spinoff to something that does what it does better. I'm all for inspired creations that bring something new to the table.
