Chat Moderation

Does anyone have any dates on when the 3rd party chat moderation company will actually take over the chat? Does that include a reassessment of the automatic kicks and so forth?

I feel like it's very vague in what action will actually take place for the whole chat debacle. The fact is a lot of players were angry. And considering the game's playerbase just keeps increasng thanks to the everso awesome dev team, that means the rate at which problems similar to what we've seen take place increase. I'm just very worried that DE isn't taking this as seriously as they should in terms of the consequences of ruining the reputation of the most active means of chatting for players. It's a bubble waiting to burst, the more in the shadows they leave the people who care about this issue the worse it'll get. Another fact is a 2 years ago, this issue was only in maybe a few hundred players and now it's risen to where around 15-20 thousand people are aware of it and many have complained.

I think just like how the dev teams attitude towards updates, glitches, feedback in being transparent with the community that earned our respect and trust- the same should take place here. A clear set of rules rolled and a list of the words that warrant automatic kicks to the public in which people can have a say and majority vote on what they feel is unfair and so forth. The last thing I want to see happen to this game in 2 years is that minority groups sneak in and enforce politics into the game on political correctness and DE buckling to them just to appease them in turn ruining the silent majority's communication experience.

But even if someone is moderating the moderators, who will be moderating the moderator moderators? 🤔 Just thought it sounds kinda funny that moderators need to be moderated.

I'd hope the the system is put in place some time soon, given how frustrating and abusive the dysfunctional system can be. I want to say that I'd imagine they'd still listen to feedback even after it's initial implementation.(even though I do kinda share the sentiment they aren't taking it seriously)
But if the automatic system is still causing issues after the new system arrives, or some non-offensive things are still banned, it's up to us to let DE know that the system could still be improved!

That uneasiness you have is a result of the actions and consequences already taken place. Which is already a step in the wrong direction. That's exactly what I'm worried about. Once DE starts losing the trust put in them by community members for actions taken that were not decided by them, it's gonna be an absolute mess.

It's up to us indeed, but at the same time DE has to show the same level of understanding and open communication as they do the game updates.

What does this even mean to the game? Be specific.

"Fact"? Many have complained? The people rightfully banned should be considered?

I was pretty specific. Politics, political correctness. An agenda not relevant to the game that would ruin the majority's user interaction.

I don't understand why you are using "?". You make it seem as though I am making assumptions with no evidence. There are videos with over 20-25 thousand views and clear likes and comments in the majority showing their disapproval of the chat moderators, and what has taken place. Enough so that DE have been forced to bring in a 3rd party of professionals to "bring it up to standard".

I am not going to defend anybody because it seems like you clearly have taken a stance against. My post isn't about trying to incite a debate again. My post is about the rules being clear to the community, a reassessment of the automatic kickbot and the nature of it having a 2 way discussion with the community and community leaders and any laws, ToS, legal stuff that must be abided. I want there to be a consensus so this never has to occur again. DE has already got their hands full with the game, and I would love it if in the future, issues only just consist of reworks, patches, and glitches! 😁

Thing is, a moderator is one person. The people moderating said moderator will be (hopefully) more than one person. This way vetting can take place. In the ideal situation, an issue with bad moderation is always resolved with a vote from multiple higher ups.

The First Amendment doesn't guarantee you the rights you think it does, Literally all you have to do is go here https://www.warframe.com/terms and actually read it. What "legal stuff" are you exactly talking about, DE is based out of Canada and owned by a Chinese company.

"free speech" regardless of country doesn't apply to private organizations. So if, say, Twitter decides to ban you, you'd be a bit out of luck, You can't make a First Amendment claim in court.

We honestly wouldn't have this issue is you all could just keep regional chat on game related topics, i honestly don't like reading half of the junk out of region chat because its NOT GAME RELATED. It doesnt have anything to do with being PC or Political, it has to do with the fact that after 4 years of this game being out all of that stuff get old really fast.

I did not mention the First Amendment anywhere, I also live in the UK to show even more so how random your point is. I honestly have no clue why you are talking about it. I don't know how you jumped from letting the community understand clear rules and so on to this. But to give you a little leeway, I have read the ToS in it's entirety.

"

  1. User Content that is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, suggestive, harassing, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, fraudulent or otherwise objectionable;  "

This is the section that most relates to chat moderation. Other than the very obvious terms, these are vague terms that depend a lot on context and subjectivity. There brings up the dilemma of certain jokes, memes and so forth such as the infamous "nezha is a trap" but those are irrelevant to the real problem. which is the chat moderators have been shown to enforce their own personal bias instead of neutral compliance to the rules and a failure to follow these very stated rules IN the terms of agreement. (i.e suggsetive and unlawful name of misandrist, foul language and threatening behaviour).

They have not suffered a single punishment and remain in their positions. This is what people find unacceptable. There is clear evidence, screenshots and large amounts of bad reputation. DE is not taking responsible for the behaviour of the individuals they sought to choose as moderators rather than reputable community members who have given a lot to us from free kindness. This is DE's mess and they need to clean it up if I were to be rough about it.

Or the infamous conversation where a mod told people that exchanging shards at maroo wont result in bans and hinted he is above the law.

The rules are too vague to apply truthfully, so everybody can apply his own bias to it.

The latest joke what popped up is the user Cephalon_fondler had his name changed name because large amount of reports came in finding it offensive as he said "almost 1000 ingame hours and people have problem with it right now?".

That's right however you gotta consider this game is rated M for Mature and many players are adults. The community is great and understanding. I personally believe all it takes is a simple discussion in understanding the majority of the community's views while remembering the legality from a community leader. We trust in the community leaders, and we have very good impressions of them. I also find that they'd be empathetic and understand what's the mature and responsible way going about this so it never happens again. The most important thing that makes it easy is the fact that community is so united in this but the worse this gets, the more a rift will start to be drawn.

You know i would agree with you if the tendencies would show the same, but this is the third time the mods caused an outrage and nothing has happened.

We are getting strong "sweep under the rug" vibes here and the silence from DE definietly doesnt help.
