(XBOX)oOJeshuanOo
I've noticed a lot of suspicious things about this guy, from Eidolons to his voice. Onkko could be a traitor, or even a Sentient. His Voice: Listen to his voice; it's robotic. He's wearing the Ceno armor set, but the mask (shown by our own operators in quests) doesn't change the wearer's voice to sound robotic. However, when Ballas was Sentient-ified or what-not, his voice was changed to sound more robotic. Eidolon Teralysts/Hydrolysts/Gauntulysts: Onkko sends us out to take care of these things because they're causing problems, as in they're killing and destroying things. So we should just kill them, especially since they're just machines, not wildlife. But for some reason, we get worse awards when we do kill them, and way better rewards when we just capture them. Seems like Onkko wants us to capture more than kill, but why? So he can gather the Eidolons for The New War? What's he doing with all these captured Eidolons? His Name: DE always plugs a meaning in every single name in the game, and Onkko (minus a k) means tumor: a combining form meaning “tumor,” “mass”: oncogenesis. [comb. form of Greek ónkos mass, bulk]. He could very well be a "tumor", planted in the Tenno syndicate (Quils) by Sentients.
keyosbringer
And I suppose the Umbral blindfolds are supposed to change the dialogues to be "help I can't see anything" and "where even am I'
Urlan
Honestly, considering that he has prior history before becoming a Quill with Saya and Konzu even growing up with them originally; its more likely that Quills are the Unum equivalent of corrupted and linked somewhat to the Tower Neural Sentry. Onkko's ability to see different possibilities could be something gifted or augmented by the Unum; but he mentions these visions are what led him to leave Saya and join the Quills in the first place so it must logically be more complicated than that.
