I don't know if I'm the only one disappointed with this "boomerang". It just seems to small, when they announced that a new throwing weapon Kestrel was coming, and it was going to be a boomerang I had something like the hiraikotsu in mind.

Here are some pictures and videos:

I also think the Kestrel's ragdoll affect on mobs would go nicely with this style of the boomerang, anyways what are your thoughts on the Kestrel's weapon design.

Pretty sure its cause it uses glavies animations. If DE wants to put in some more man hours HELL YA give me dat big hudge boom boom.

Yeah, I was kinda upset when I noticed that the Kestrel was using the same throwing animation as the Glaive, idk man I kinda want dat big boom boom boomerang.

If he had a giant boomerang maybe, just maybe.

He has a giant sword but he's not the only one. Every anime character is always over-exaggerated in every way.

Yeah thats pretty reasonable, its just that throwing around Grineer like ragdolls doesn't feel as rewarding with a tiny boomerang.

Because that's so real.

Man you are really late on this. "New boomerang" It came out, what, 3 months ago? Anyway, I've always hated it. Limited effectiveness (Glaive is better in just about every way), and it STILL has terrible clipping with it being stored on the arm. They should really just move it to the waist where the daggers are kept.

i came into this thread being promised a decent discussion about the way the Kestrel looks.

instead i found more people suggesting asian bull crap in a game that already has an Art Style.

and that art style is not Anime. since it has some eastern influences it has a bit of it mixed in there, but that's far from the entire art style inspiration.

not to mention that boomerang is really bland, and has nothing going for it other than being really big. it's a stereotypical 'Australians like boomerangs' looking boomerang.

Kestral already has a look - which i'm fine with, the general shape of most boomerangs, but stylized to fit Warframe.

seriously, if you want a FF style game, play FF(or some other carbon copy of it). that's why those games exist.

Limited effectiveness (Glaive is better in just about every way)

it's not for damage output, the two separate 100% knockdown throws you can apply to enemies... is great for Utility.

Kestrel is arguably the best melee in the game, because even lv 10,000 enemies still get knocked down and thrown around just as much as lv1's, while damage wise, other melee's become entirely useless.

i don't use it that often, but when i do, it's baller fun :>

I honestly do not want an anime replica, it was just the closest thing to what I imagined it'd be like form my childhood. I just think using that small boomerang to fling enemies doesn't seem practical, not to say everything in this game should be. It just doesn't feel right to me, but please share your designs and opinions.

It's never to late to voice out opinions about weapons, as devs have said before they will always try to revisit old weapons and frames. I just scrolled by my krestel and the disappointment came back alive from long ago.
