Umbral Concept: Nidus Umbra

"What was once an Adaptive Scourge, now an Evolved hivemind.

With dangerous control over his Infested prowess and a mind of sentience, none may oppose the Helminth Virus in all Its glory."

Statistic List:

  • Mastery Rank: 15
  • Health: 200 (600 at rank 30)
  • Shield: 0
  • Armor: 350 (525 at rank 30)
  • Energy: 150 (225 at rank 30)
  • Sprint Speed: 0.95
  • Polarities: Umbra PolUmbra PolVazarin PolMadurai Pol
  • Exilus Polarities: None
  • Aura Polarity: Vazarin Pol

Differences: Has greater Health, armor and energy, Slower movement speed, two umbral polarities and a Vazarin aura polarity.

Note: Health Regen remains the same as nidus.

Passive abilities:

  1. Mutation Stacks(notable): unlike the normal mutation gauge, only four hits from Nidus Umbra's abilities will grant a stack of mutation, as a notation to his greater control over the Helminth Virus.
  2. Undying(Normal): If Nidus suffers fatal damage with at least 15 stacks of Mutation, those 15 stacks are consumed, granting him 5 seconds of invulnerability and restoring 50% of his health.

Nidus Umbra's First and Second abilities are identical to that of Nidus.

Notable Third Ability: Parasitic Host

Spoiler
  • Nidus Umbra expends two Mutation stacks to perform symbiosis with a targeted ally Warframe within 24 / 28 / 34 / 40 meters or parasitically link with a targeted enemy within 10 / 13 / 16 / 20 meters. The link persists as long as Nidus Umbra and his target remain in range of each other, lasting for 30 / 35 / 45 / 60 seconds or when manually deactivated by pressing the ability key again.
    • Ally and enemy link range are affected by Ability Range.
    • Duration is affected by Ability Duration.
    • Parasitic Host does not require line-of-sight to maintain connection between Nidus and his target.
    • If the target dies during cast before the link is attached, the two Mutation stacks used for Parasitic host will be refunded.
  • When linked with an ally Warframe, Nidus Umbra and his target both receive a 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% Ability Strength bonus. When linked with an enemy, the target compulsively fights alongside Nidus Umbra for the duration while also transferring 20% / 30% / 40% / 50% damage done to Nidus Umbra to the enemy target instead; all knockdown, stagger, and negative status effects are also transferred from Nidus Umbra to the enemy target.
    • Ability Strength bonus and damage redirection are affected by Ability Strength.
    • Damage redirection is capped at 90%, achievable with an Ability Strength of at least 180%.
    • Enemy target is invulnerable to outside sources of damage and immune to external crowd control effects while Parasitic Host is active, but is not immune to damage and crowd control effects transferred from Nidus Umbra. Damage from outside sources is accumulated and dealt to the target when the ability expires or is manually deactivated.
      • Self-inflicted damage and friendly fire is not transferred to the linked target.
  • While linked to a target, using Virulence will spawn a second instance from the linked target that grows towards the targeted location, converging with the first instance from Nidus.
  • Parasitic Host is a One-Handed Action and can be cast while in midair.
  • Nidus Umbra and the target are visibly covered in infestation and connected via a tether of biochemical energy, which is affected by the chosen Warframe energy color.
  • Cannot link to a target already affected by Parasitic Link, Parasitic Host. Multiple Nidus/Nidus Umbra players cannot link to the same target, nor to each other while their own Parasitic Link/Parasitic Host ability is active.
  • When connected to another Nidus/Nidus Umbra player, both players will use the Ability Strength bonus from the casting player; the link will break if the partner activates Parasitic Link/Parasitic Host on a different target.

Notable fourth ability: Ravenous Horde.

Spoiler
  • Nidus Umbra converts up to 5 Mutation stacks into a ravenous Infestation, which spreads outward from Nidus Umbra and across the surrounding landscape to create spawning grounds with a diameter of 8 meters, lingering for 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 seconds. Nidus and his allies will regenerate 10 / 13 / 16 / 20 health per second when inside the spawning grounds.
    • Health regen per second is affected by Ability Strength.
    • Health regen buff area is an invisible cylinder, allowing eligible targets to retain the buff up to a height of 8 meters above the spawning grounds.
    • Diameter and height are not affected by Ability Range.
    • Duration is affected by Ability Duration.
    • Ravenous Horde's health regeneration is visible to players as a buff icon beside the shield and health indicators on the HUD, indicating the health regen rate.
    • Health regeneration affects ally Warframes, ability-summoned units, Companions, Specters, Rescue hostages, Syndicate operatives, Sortie defense operatives, and Invasion allied faction units.
  • Up to 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 Random infested allies can be permanently summoned by the initial cast for each stack of mutation remaining (until the abilities expiration) replacing 7 of the 9 maggots that spawn. however, once they are defeated, maggots will spawn from infested cysts as normal.
    • the damage done by infested allies are not affected by Ability Strength. the damage done is, however, amplified by the number of mutation stacks accumulated.
    • The infested allies that spawn from the initial cast are limited to the following: Walkers(Chargers, Leapers and Runners guaranteed base summon), Crawlers(Normal, Nauseous, Electric and Toxic crawlers with 80% summoning chance), Machines(Mutalist Osprey, Swarm Mutalist and Tar Mutalist Moas with 60% summoning chance) and Ancients(Only Ancient Healers & Toxic Ancients with 25% summoning chance).
    • On extremely rare occasions that almost never happen, a infested Juggernaut ally may spawn(1% summoning chance.), but Only one may spawn at a given time. Furthermore, as the summoning chances are greater on lesser infested allies, infested juggernaut allies will be almost guaranteed not to spawn, but it is albeit possible for one to be summoned.
  • Infested cysts form on the spawning grounds, hatching up to 9 Maggots that seek out nearby enemies to feast upon. Once enemies are detected, Maggots frenzy with increased movement speed and leap toward their prey to latch onto them. While attached to an enemy, each Maggot will continuously stun its target and inflict 10 Toxin b Toxin damage per second until the target dies or Maggot expires.
    • Number of active Maggots and Toxin b Toxin damage are not affected by Ability Strength.
      • The Toxin b Toxin damage is, however, amplified by the number of Mutation stacks accumulated using the following formula: Toxin Damage × (1 + Number of Stacks)
    • Multiple Maggots can attach to the same enemy target simultaneously.
  • When detonated by Virulence, when their hosts die, when killed, or when Ravenous Horde's duration expires, Maggots explode to deal 100 / 110 / 125 / 150 Blast b Blast damage to all enemies within a 4 meter radius.
    • Explosion radius is affected by Ability Range.
    • Explosion damage is affected by Ability Strength and the number of Mutation stacks accumulated.
      • Due to the total damage calculation accounting for Mutation stacks after the cost of Ravenous Horde, it is not possible to reach amplified damage results above 97 Mutation stacks.
    • Enemies hit by Maggot explosions contribute to the Mutation gauge. Hit scoring varies depending on the below factors:
      • Each enemy caught in a Maggot explosion counts as 1 hit per enemy.
      • When a maggot host is killed by maggot bites, the host and any nearby enemy will count towards Mutation.
      • When a maggot host is killed by other sources than maggot bites, the host itself is not an eligible target and will not count towards Mutation.
      • When a maggot host is hit or killed by Virulence, the host itself is an eligible target and will count as 2 hits, one from Virulence and the other from the explosion of a single Maggot that was attached.
      • If multiple maggots were attached to the same host, each maggot explosion will score 1 hit on the host.
  • Health regen per second and Maggot explosion and Toxin b Toxin damage are calculated and predetermined when Ravenous Horde is cast. All three will not be recalculated if any changes in Ability Strength and Mutation stacks occur while Ravenous is active.
  • Has a casting time of 1.5 seconds.
  • Ravenous Horde can be recast while active.
    • Only one instance can be active at a time.
    • Recasting Ravenous Horde while on the spawning grounds will refresh its duration without relocating it.
      • Maggot explosion and Toxin b Toxin damage and health regen rate will not be recalculated if an instance of Ravenous Horde is recast.
      • Due to Ravenous Horde's casting time, players will have to recast at least 1.5 seconds before the duration ends to maintain the old instance.
    • Recasting Ravenous Horde away from an active spawning ground creates a new instance at the new location while removing the older instance.
      • Maggot explosion and Toxin b Toxin damage and health regen rate are recalculated if a new instance of Ravenous Horde is created.

So u want all frames to be "Umbra"!?

Am I right?

We already have 1 umbra frame, so why we need another one?

Where is the point?

What u will suggest tomorrow, chroma umbra, nova umbra, mesa umbra, rhino umbra....???

It's more a case here that Nidus Prime actually would not make much sense in the lore, and Nidus Umbra would end up making more sense, given the nature of the Infestation, Helminth, and the Warframe itself.

Take away one of the other polarities and put in another Umbra one, and I'll be happy. We have a full set of Umbra mods that has 3 set pieces. I quite like them, but they drain the hell out of our mod resource.

Well guys ask DE that they stops making Prime version of frames and ask them to make Umbra versions, then u will have tons of Umbra frames.

All vaulted Prime versions DE can put in trash can and start to making Umbra frames to satisfy your wishes!

I hope so they will hear you. :crylaugh:
