Question about amp

Can you only rank up any amp through Eidolon hunting, or are there other ways ? I know the mote amp is a beginner amp but it's all I have for right now.

Try doing spy missions. Go through the vaults with your Warframe, then when you need to hack the main console switch to your operator to hack. All the affinity will go to your equpped amp.

This. Hacking the Data Vault in Spy missions gives an extra chunk of Affinity. More if you get to it and complete the hack without being detected. Since your Operator doesn't get Affinity, and Amps are the only piece of gear they can use, all of that Affinity goes to the Amp. This makes leveling up the Mote Amp very easy, which is good, as it's a piece of hot garbage that struggles to kill pretty much anything.
