Peacemaker bugs while heavy weapon is equipped

I used Peacemaker while I have my arch-gun equipped but wound up using the secondary pistols I had equipped (Akjagara Prime) instead of the Regulators. I was able to move, albeit slowly, and shoot freely and consumed energy every time I fired my secondary weapon. But I was still able to keep shooting even after I had spend all my energy. I was going to record footage of it but I was incapacitated while pulling up my camera and my Mesa returned to normal after I was revived.
