The Prophet Taker Phase 1, Fish for clues

Not sure if there was a bug on this quest, me and 3 other random players tried fishing in the cave for an hour to progress the quest but nothing happened

We then tried picking up the spear on the floor next to the body but none of us could, then we tried different baits and spears.

In the end we gave up... Enjoyed the fishing though.

I'll be trying again when I get back from work and maybe figure out what I did wrong.

Supposedly you are supposed to use the bait that the Quill gave you.

I didn't get any bait though.

So I just pressed the bait button even though I had no bait.

Then went fishing. Got the objective that way.

Getting the same unintended feature myself. I have caught uncounted fish including a small amount of synthaid and the quest will not progress. On top of it all i have to leave and reenter the cave in order to catch more than one fish.

I caught scrubbers and mirewinders.

Did you press the use bait button?

I feel that might do something even though no bait is shown in the slot, nor is there any animation of using one.

I used the Stunna and had no problems. Just tossed in Luminous Fish Dye and caught 3 scrubber/mirewinders. It just sounds like it's buggy.

I used no bait, just fished and after 3 fish got the new marker. 

The first bounty has so many bugs I can't keep count.
