Conservation and Fishing

So I have a question about Conservation and Fishing.

Does it matter where I land the mark on the red bar? Does it affect the quality of it, or is it just this big hitmarker for me to hit to actually catch it.

Then for the Conservation, does following the moving bar perfectly make it a higher chance for the rarer targets to come?

Didn't notice about fishing but I don't think so. I land almost always in the middle of the mark and I get all varieties.

For conservation you can rest easy, it deosn't have the slightest effect on it. Had the same doubt and managed to follow the mark perfectly and didn't notice any increase in rare subspecies, many other times I have done an half butted call and got a rare breed. Weather should affect the wildlife though (not even the wikia has any info regarding it though).

so on the fishing spears in fortuna the red is pretty much the EMP shockwave, if you hit the low end the wave is much smaller than if you hit the middle then you get a bigger wave.

on the mining getting all 5 of the icons lit up means you get more material out but doesnt affect what you get, using mining tool from fortuna an the advance mining tool from cetus will have differnt values of what materials you will dig up
