Do you have enough storage on your computer?

The game is running on a 250gig ssd. The system requirements on warframes page say you need 25gigs. As of right now when i check the warframe folder its over 208gigs. Why is this game so massive? Really dont want to have to buy a TB drive just for a game.

You might want to look into this further because it’s only around 50gigs on consoles.

Well unless Warframe got about 2 RDR2 worth of new content and updates within the last 2 weeks I’d suggest you delete and redownload the entire game.

Ya ill probably do that. Just noticed that in the warframe directory its the cache.windows folder that has the biggest file size. Not sure why.

When you first installed the game, did you make sure to run it as an administrator and select an installation directory like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Warframe\"?

In very, very rare cases, the installer may set your "C:\Users\<Your_Windows_Name>\appdata\local\Temp\" folder as the installation directory if the installer was run without proper privileges. As the "Temp" name implies, stuff saved to that folder is temporary, which means any downloaded game data may be lost upon closing the program.

Though, this is very unlikely to be the case, it may be good to just double check where you have the game data set to install.

Also the game's download cache should not be 208 gigabytes. Since you already started identified the cache.windows folder as being far too large, I would try

  1. Run the warframe launcher
  2. In the upper right corner, click the tiny Gear button
  3. In the "Download Cache" area, click Verify, and once that finishes, click Optimize

If that still doesn't bring Cache down to around 30 gigs, then it's time to re-download the game cuz something is seriously off the rails.

I was unaware that it needed to be ran as administrator. I actually uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it worked fine until i logged out for a while then came back to play and again the launcher tries to download the new content again. When i click the installer there is no option to run as administrator because its an .msi file. I did see where it had installed warframe on my C: drive under /users/appdata/temp etc but i didnt install it there i installed it onto a separate drive. Not sure whats going on with this game.
