Why do Archwing Weapons need ammo?

I mean in Archwing they're built to have a self-replenishing ammo pool, why does this not work on the ground?  Getting ammo is probably dullest part of using weapons,a nd can flat out make some of the unviable due to them having a poor ammo economy.  Not to mention with Archweapons being weaker than the standard weapons, it seems like there's some misplaced priorities about making the weapons feel heavy and powerful, without actually being heavy and powerful.

Honestly if they just let Ammo restores work on Arch-guns then most people would stop complaining.

But yeah, they should really either buff the arch-guns further or give us more and better mods for them.

Because if a gun runs out of ammo, it won't fire.

Also because balance reasons.

what would be this "balance" reason? it's only to limit us without a good reason. the archguns are weak, have an excessive cooldown, and some of our primary guns are so well modded that one clip of an ignis, a supra vandal, a lanka, or an opticor could destroy a grineer battleship all by itself. no need for punny archguns. they could give us a NO COOLDOWN archgun launcher, and the so called "balance" would still be perfectly fine. it's just clunky to use and you're depending on the enemies to get it back, it sucks. a LOT.

They don't want them to ever replace regular weapons.

"But they're weaker than our regular weapons."

Then suggest that they buff their damage instead.

Making them work like normal weapons would just kill any uniqueness they could have in the future. The intent of them being "beefy damage" for brief periods of time can't happen if they function normally and having them correctly function as such would be a far more unique and interesting mechanic than just being clunkier primaries.

You can only have one. Either it has absolutely no cooldown or ammo but made weaker so there's no reason to use them in regular missions. Or they get better mods/stats and we keep it inconvenient. If you have both, you're just giving a 3rd weapon slot to players which is specifically what their design is intended to avoid.
