Nyx rework 1.5 (More to Psychic themed)

No. You know how chaos puts the image of Nyx over all effected. What I mean is any one effected by Nyx has one of those and the passive picks 1 of those to use the exalted weapon. It well fire at anything, but it’s host and us. I hope that clears it up a little :S

Which means Nyx going to have good scaling from absorbed damage to output.

 

But im worried they might rebalance it because Assimilate is a powerful augment for Absorb, so they maybe "buff" for the normal absorb but nerf a bit on the Assimilate.

 

They also going to fix Nyx's Mind Control interacting with Limbo's Rift. Hopefully they overhaul its AI.

 

Psychic Bolts might not receive change, but im hoping for the ability actually force Mind Control and Chaos targets to attacl the debuffed enemies so they can burst fire on them which leads Nyx to be good manipulator.

Because they are already invincible except getting crowd control, damage buff from "Wind Up" + Mind Freak is still not enough due to "armor" and "shield".

 

To give proper buff for the mind control for any type, any enemy they shoot or already attack them will debuff that tracked target with

 

50% armor reduction,

shield reduction and

health reduction.

 

This is to make sure Mind Control are not forced to synergize with Psychic Bolts just because the 2nd ability have strong debuff.

 

(unless Psychic Bolts force Mind Control to attack the debuffed enemy which is a good feature for psychic frame).

 

Adding new mechanics where Mind Control get (optional)

 

1. Mind Control give damage resistance (DR) for Nyx and Allies within Affinity range.

 

2. Mind Control gain pseudo exalted weapon similar to Exalted frame.

 

3. Nearby enemies become terrify and their health is leeched by Mind Control

 

4. Different enemy type Mind Controlled = different aoe buff or aoe offensive (like Titania's tribute)

 Or simply have damage done by the mind-control target be considered true damage. Enemy armor/defensive scaling is so extreme that their own damage output fails to compete with it. If the mind control target could ignore the scaling it'd mean snagging Bombards or Heavy Gunners to make servants could actually be quite damaging.

That way, as band aid, summon "equipable" warframe specter to your side with one slot equipable weapon.

 

It may not fit to her theme, atleast make her 1st ability to be useful that scales throughout endless level. Which also allow secondary specter that allow Nyx to bring Trinity/Nekros to suit any mission, (if the specter cast that is).

 

This is because enemy AI in general is bad as hell. If you Mind Control heavy gunner from far away, it wont attack nearby enemies until it go near you, or temporary not shooting at enemy.

 

Replacing it with Specter AI that can bullet jump, run like any player, and commandable to protect is a good ally.

I doubt DE will sacrifice the psychic theme for gameplay convinience.

They COULD try to create a separate AI for mind controlled enemies though. And then - if its good enough - maybe even apply it to normal enemies. Although i HIGHLY doubt they will do it.

They already stated that they can't be bothered with complicated refined AI because we murder enemies in hundreds in seconds. Expendable grunts don't need good brains.
So instead they focus on making more dangerous enemies smarter. Such as Heavy Gunner, Corpus Tech, that guy with a glass over his head.

Dont mind control just whoever, mind control who's worthy of being mind controlled.

Looking at new hotfix, Nyx's Absorb can increase the ability range and giving her self buff damage for each dmg absorbed threshold.

 

Max range for absorb is 75meter and 400% for self damage buff with 10 seconds duration.

 

But if they should add one more mechanic that allow status effect proc for each dynamic dmg type depending on absorbed points.

Just  overbuff it. Like Saryn's rework, she become queen of poison that instantly nuke everything.

 

If Nyx is "mind manipulation in the battlefield", let her destroy everyone like Professor Xavier manipulates everyone.

 

If Titania "is the antman or wasp with small army of flying hornets with pixie-like support", let her destroy enemies with *regenerating" razorflies and protect team with actually real buff from Tribute (Damage reduction + damage buff).

 

If Vauban a "tactician frame", he should be useful for "every situation". Damage with Tesla, crowd control with Bastille, Minelayer with good scaling with stats (looking at Shred's low range and armor reduction), Vortex that actually scale damage depending on enemy health (its an ultimate it should do better than succ). DE can replace Minelayer into Sentry turret that deal damage with pseudo exalted mod.

 

Wukong being the true monkey king, fool everyone like Loki, strength like valkyr and swift as zephyr (or volt).

What's missing is the rationale. I agree, overbuff them, but only so we end up with an easy fix - tone it down afterward.

DE is so afraid of Warframes being OP that they rework them so underwhelmingly. The other way around is just as valid. Overbuff them so you could see their true potential and simply adjust later, as opposed to underbuffing them and leaving them at that.

The only problem with over buffing them is that when they do go back to rebalance them the community will scream NERFS and demand them to change it back; similar with Chroma, his Vex armour damage buff was broken to begin with and then years later they finally fixed it and then the community complained about it even if the fix was logical.

If they were going to do this they would have to clear state to everyone that the rework may be OP and will be readjusted. Further they will need to appropriately readjust them in a short amount of time after releasing and getting data from player use so we don't get too used to it until brought in line.

I don't know about that... there's no need imho for further straight buffs - because, if I got it right, Assimilate received only straight buffs.

Anything more than that, and you risk dipping your feet into the "game-breaking stuff" waters. Let's go one step at a time, I'd say. 😛

Defense, slow down because kill requirements and mind control halt that progress.

 

Exterminate, not good her not having damage, Staticor the only way for instant kill.

 

Capture, damage requirement mission, the strongest weapon needed before the target use Ice Beam to instantly kill you.

 

Mobile Defense, good for her but doesnt protect her and objective from getting attack because chaos still allow the enemies to shoot.

 

Defection, she sometimes good against this one. It prevents infested to attack the defectors, but oberon better performs to "heal".

 

Survival, good for solo, bad with teammates especially for camping. But as long you have 50% range that doesnt halt too much on the "kill to drop life support" then its fine.

 

So shes good for survival with reduced range, defection for crowd control infested, and mobile defense but semi viable from getting damaged.

 

So, majority of mission is kill requirements which is thats why most crowd control frames not player's choice.

 

If Nyx's job is to manipulate minds is the stats on her abilities great against enemies and allies?

Once upon a time we didn't have insane damage stacking mods and scaling abilities. Even the powercreep of base weapon performance has increased; unmodded weapons today preform about as well as nearly full modded weapons in the past.

We've simply lost the need for CC based kits. This seems to be why DE is trying to put more damage into her kit.

But without a full blown rework to her base abilities Nyx will likely remain an "under-performer" until DE gives us content that can incentivize CC over nukes.

There are better options and that is the problem. She does everything other frames do better. I believe her 4 could be heavily optimized to give her an actual reason to be played. Make it so damage to your Absorb does not cost extra energy (allies that shoot you with a Tigris shot deplete around 500 energy from you). Further, I'd allow self-damage to count towards Absorb, making it possible to use her as a nuke frame like Equinox.

Problem being, that DE hates nuke frames and this Nyx would function like the nerfed Suicide-Trin, however, still better than Saryn, Volt and Banshee where one presses just one button.

Still to quote Brozime's Tier list Nyx is a bad C and would become a good A with this change.
