Confused on MR (Mastery rank) Progression

Can anybody tell me how much Warframe XP I Need to progress to mastery rank 2 sorry I'm really new and I don't even know if its Warframe XP or not that i need to rank up please help thanks

Your profile says how many mastery points you need to get the next Mastery rank.

Any warframe, sentinel or companion gives you 6k mastery points total when you reach 30lvl on it. Any weapon (including sentinel weapons) gives you 3k. You are getting some points (100 or 200) with each warframe/weapon/etc rank gained. Also each Junction (node that connects planets) gives you 1k points.

Well, it said 3.5k XP left but the thing is I did a mission and got 4.7k Warframe XP and nothing happened.

The stuff you get from killing enemies / completing certain mission objectives is Affinity,
which will go towards your Frame / weapons / whatnot to rank them up.

Ranking up (new) gear in turn contributes to your Mastery,
a 1 Rank increase is worth either 100 (weapons) or 200 (Frames, Companions) Mastery.

i think he is confusing mastery with the affinity he gained on his warframe on a mission
