Longsword Sheathing Placements Should Get Fixed For U.10, They Need To Be Leaning On The Right Shoulder, Not The Left.

It's still annoying looking at your character as they reach for his/her Ether Longsword, Cronus, Skana, or anyother longsword over their right shoulder when the weapon is leaning on their left shoulder. It's the same when they're sheathing it, they're reaching over their right shoulder to sheath it, but then the sword just appears on their left shoulder afterwards.

Even in the tutorial, you see Excaliber getting back on his feet with his Skana leaning on his right shoulder, then once your given control of him, the Skana magically gets placed over his left shoulder.

The only proper placement at the moment are for dual weapons ( and 2-handed sorta ).

Longsword placement has been that way ever since, but I guess no one has ever really noticed it except me. Tenno are right hand dominant when it comes to using longswords, they unsheath/sheath with their right hand, they attack with their right hand, and they're right hand dominant when they're blocking, but then after all that's done, the sword decides to rest on their left shoulder instead of the right thinking they're left hand dominant for 1-handed weapons.

Others have noticed it, I have at least. I just think there are more important issues they need to work on.

It's a very simple fix that doesn't consume 3-4 days. Yes they're more important things, but these guys have had more than enough time to fix some smaller issues, those issues don't even break the game in any way, it's helping to polish it, besides many of the major issues are being fixed in update 10.

I'm sure the most important one is the performance issues that are coming with update 10, hopefully it'll mean that most of us will be able to play on Phobos without the random freezing, glitching, fps drop, map not generating, etc. Along with the host migration stuff going on.

We don't actually know yet if any of the changes in U.10 will actually fix anything, they might just break it in a different way. But we have to hope for the best.

The thing with changing the positioning of the long swords on your back is that there would be multiple other weapons that they would need to have their positioning changed or there would be ugly clipping, when you look at the number of 'Frames and the number of weapons that would end up being more work that it would first seem.

But then I might be completely wrong since I am not involved in game production at all.

I thought about this for a little and the easiest way to do so that I can think of (without clipping, or making it look like you're sheathing your melee onto your primary/secondary or vice versa) would be to change every frames primary weapon "sheath" to function the way Saryn's does, which is in a nearly vertical position attached to the right shoulder, rather than angled from the left shoulder to right hip the same way the melee is. Then all the melees would have room to be vertically flipped so the current drawing and sheathing animations can stay and also make sense.
