Moa Companion shoots Deth Rifle from ground?

I usually don't run into bugs (just lucky I guess), but I was wondering if this happens to be a bug or if its meant to be firing from between the legs and under the feet. I wouldn't imagine it to be intentional considering the rifle is hitting most enemies, but even with its iffy accuracy the bullets seem to only hit when the "spool" of the rifle would be above the ground in a spinnin fasion. There are a lot of bouncing sparks vs firing flashes.
