Which Weapons Should I Discard? (91 Total)

My weapons inventory is now out of space; rather than buy more slots I'd rather purge what I don't need anymore.  I know the general rule is to a) get rid of what isn't used and b) generally try to keep primes, event weapons and ingredient weapons, but I'd just feel better dumping several months worth of mastered weapons if there are other people telling me that they're probably MR fodder anyway.

Long list. Not comprehensive, but here's what I got after a glance through.

Get rid of base versions of your Prime weapons: Boar, Boltor, Fang, Hikou, Paris, Soma, Orthos

The following weapons are unnecessary as you have something similar in function but better: Dual Ether, Dual Heat, and Dual Skana are inferior to Dual Zoren. Cernos is inferior to Dread. Kesheg is inferior to Orthos and Orthos Prime. Bo is inferior to Broken Scepter. Sell any single sword not named Broken War, Dakra Prime, or Krohkur. Ether Reaper is inferior to Hate. You have Fusilai and Despair, so sell Kunai. Sobek is mediocre, and you also have a Hek, Boar Prime, Tigris, Corinth, Arca Plasmor, and Astilla. Ankyros Prime and Furax are inferior to Tekko. Twin Grakatas outclass Twin Gremlins.

First off get rid of any duplicates, for example you have fang and fang prime not really useful to have both so get rid of the standard version. As for the rest its hard to say, theres plenty i would drop but thats based on what I like and what I play which is obviously different. One of the things I do to maintain a reasonable arsenal though is to drop any version of weapons that there is a better version of after leveling. For example, I got the glaive and leveled it, kinda liked it but dumped it so I would have space for the prime when it came out of the vault. Same goes for syndicate/vandal/wraith/prisma weapons. The only time I would keep the standard version of a weapon that has a better version is if I really really really like it and want to use it until I can get my hands on the better version.

My picks to drop (I do not like the majority of  projectiles and melee as much range as possible, I like weapons with specialities), get more opinions:

A good rule is to sell one as you acquire one

That way it becomes auto

Next think about what type of weapons are you fond of.

Because there are very few "bad" weapons in Warframe.

 

The questions are :

- Do you like the mecanics of this weapon ?

Do you like shotguns with incredible damage but short range ?

Bows are powerful and silent but bad for CC.

Are you comfortable with projectile travel time or are you hitscan only guy ?

Semi trigger is ok or you want keep your mouse a few months longer ?

Melee with good reach and damage or very fast daggers to inflict fatal stealth finishers ?

Some weapons synergyse well with your favorites Warframe abilities ? (I like Phantasma to spread Saryn spores and Amprex with Mirage is a bully)

And so on...

 

- Are you ready to throw a potato and a few formats? Have you the rights mods maxed ?

Well modded, and maybe with the right riven, most weapons do well.

But do you enjoy the playstyle of a weapon to invest time and plat ?

 

Be cautious. Even if the normal type of a weapon is often inferior to a prime or a syndical version, sometimes normal types weapons are prefered.

Exemple: Hek have acces to a syndicate augment mod that Vaykor Hek cant use.

And dont sell daily tribute weapons. Never.

7. Hystrix I love hystrix for his 100%proc and 4 types of elemental damage. I run one with hybrid build (viral status/crit) and use most often poison quills. Travel time projectile and some dispersion but it's a secondary not a sniper. Efficient whatever ennemy your fight.

Remove the base versions of the primed weapons. honestly that should free up a lot of slots or sell weapons that you do not want or don't have the right build for it. honestly that's all, i get my weapons, get the xp and then delete. mastery locked weapons do not mean they are more powerful than what you have. you just need to have the right build and that is all.
