Certain Enemies' Damage Bypasses Mesmer Skin

In particular I found that 002-ER's (Shield Osprey from the Index) burst opticor attack can bypass mesmer skin. However it seems to me that although the damage is dealt, your health can not go below 2hp for some time as if you had QT euipped (although it isn't equipped), after some more attack Revenant dies.
