mouse advice

Question

Hi there,

I'm thinking about buying a better quality mouse mainly to play warframe with.  Obviously this is highly subjective, one thing I wanted to ask is can you get/program mice so that you can have multiple inputs on one button - what I mean is can I make it so that if i click RMB and one of my side buttons then it performs a different action than if I click the side button on it's own?

I'm not sure if 'pro' mice allow this with their mouse driver software or if it's something that you could download to make run with any mouse. At the moment I like the style of my mouse (6 side buttons) but i think having more options away from the keyboard would both improve my game play and make it more immersive and enjoyable.

Happy new year!

Thanks

Shalin

With most mice from the good brands at least: you can use a button to switch profiles. So through profiles, you can set different actions for the buttons, then instantly switch profiles with one of the buttons. So yes, you can. You would need to hit the button again to switch back as well then though.

Some mice give you "shift" buttons as well as the profiles mentioned above. I have one of these and G-Shift does what you want. You can just macro them as well.
