Umbral Ragnarok, Event Idea

A new limited time event for Warframe to take place during a real life lunar eclipses.

Duration: During the lunar eclipses during the year for 1 week with the actual eclipse taking place on the 3rd  day if a 5 day cycle or 4th day if a 7 day cycle.

Event: Umbral Ragnarok the End Game awakens

Purpose: To create a new event for the community. To add an enemy that is a next step temporary evolution of the Shadow Stalker and challenge the community’s endurance and strategy.

Back story: During the eclipse the void becomes highly unstable with the loss of Luna within the void the Ragnarok engine is sparked back to life, when Baro Ki’Teer comes into contact with it while looking for new void treasures (Must complete the sacrifice to participate). Baro Ki’Teer contacts the Tenno in a panic that during his last trip the void a huge maelstrom has begun to form when the Ragnarok engine came on line with the looming eclipse and Luna no longer there to dissipate the excess energy of the void. (He neglects to inform you that he accidently started it) He goes on to talk about how they were forced from the area by some strange enemies that appeared from the maelstrom he refers to them as Funnels. He asks the Tenno to defeat the Engine before it draws the whole star chart into the void itself. As it has already begun to claim surrounding planets in blackout areas since it came online.

All of the missions leading up to the final battle that are in the black out zones the base levels for enemies are changed to level 75 and have the same penalty as arbitrations no respawn. The enemies would be from the sentient enemy pool but with a different color pallet and called funnels. When using the operator to reset the damage resistances you would also heal 5% of funnels health back during the battle since they are creatures of the void.

Mission type would include exterminate, defense, crossfire levels (funnels vs planets local population), capture and defense.

Rewards: The corrupted mod series, kuva (2,500; 5,000; 10,000), endo (2,500; 5,000; 10,000), arcanes, void traces and with an extremely low drop rate a legendary core. Credits 100,000 to 250,000.

During these missions there would be drops of a void dark matter that you would have to use your foundry to distill to be able to pierce the void barrier to get to the boss fight.  

Final battle

Umbral Ragnarok, The broken body of the Shadow Stalker has been pulled into the void engine since his merger with the Sentient Hun how. The rage and hate for the tenno caused the Ragnarok engine to claim his body and imbue it with unstable void energy transforming him in to Fenrir.

There would be a temporary node added to the void of the Ragnarok engine in the center, when you pick this node you have to have the appropriate amount of the distilled dark void matter. This would have to be added to you inventory to access the mission.

The beginning phase of the mission starts off archwing since the area is too unstable to your landing craft to enter you simply have to fly fast enough to the destination before your distilled void dark matter is dissipated. No dying to the Funnels in void space.  1500 meters through minor obstacles of asteroid and debris.  Once to the center of the void engine you land on platform similar to the one when you do sanctuary onslaught and from the portal Fenrir would appear. This would be a distorted orokin themed fairly open arena area for the battle. This would be in the maelstrom of the void funnel where the Ragnarok Engine is active.

Fenrir: Would have sentient style resistance you have to use the operator to remove his invulnerability, and progress through each stage there would be 4 stages to the battle.

Stage one: Once through the invulnerability you will have to contend with his 2,500,000 hp and regenerating shields.

Abilities and armaments: Fenrir would dual wield Gram Primes he would use his ability to Excalibur’s exalted blade but the shock waves will be in the shape of X due to having two blades one in each hand. He would also be able to close the gap by using Rhino’s charge, Loki’s teleport and Baruk’s elude.

Appearance: Rhino Prime size and Revenant void energy effects coming off the legs, arms and chest, Nekros Ion Helmet.

Stage two: Once through the invulnerability you will have to contend with his 3,000,000 hp and ferrite armor.

Abilities and armaments: Fenrir drops the dual paracesis and pulls out arch weapon grattler during this phase he is almost immobile acting more like a turret targeting the frame that has the most agro at any given time. Abilities include umbral radial howl, mirage hall of mirrors.

Appearance: Rhino Prime size revenant energy effect flickering on and off showing his weakening state, Nekros Ion helmet.

Stage three: Once through the invulnerability you will have to contend with his 2,000,000 hp and 2,500,000 nullifier shield that does not regenerate, the projector drone will be behind Fenrir on the bubble rather than the top of the bubble and does not poses the min and max amount of damage restriction that the standard nullifier shield poses.

Powers and weapons: Saryn’s spores while using a Chroma effigy to unveil the warframe under the larger armor pelt, this becomes a separate entity to Fenrir and has to be destroyed otherwise the spores continue to slowly stack it has 500,000 hp and alloy armor. Additional abilities Ash smoke screen, Khora’s whip as well as mag’s polarize if hit with it all weapons have to be reloaded and melee weapons have to be picked up if equipped.

Dual pistols AKHystrix with alternating status effects, magnetic, corrosive, blast and puncture procs.

Appearance: Inaros Ramses skin with limbo void effects and Nekros Lazarus Helmet once the effigy is destroyed during the battle.

State four final stage: Once through the invulnerability you will have to contend with his 5,000,000 hp.

Abilities and armaments:  Revenant Danse Macabre, Rhino Iron Skin, Valkry Hysteria (removes iron skin if active during cast), Zephyr Turbulence.

Fenrir’s weapons will be Sigma & Octantis and a primary weapon similar to the opticor but with an orokin prime theme. If the cannon hits an enemy frame it puts all abilities into a 30 second cool down and removes all buffs and resets the operator to have to recharge to deploy.  It also automatically takes the player to 10 hp no shield. During the cannon’s charge up it will telegraph its attack with a beam coming from the end of the barrel indicating the path of fire.

Completion of the battle: Once Fenrir is defeated there is a massive explosion from Fenrir blowing the player warframe away leaving the Ragnarok engine losing power to shutting down, the Ragnarok maelstrom dissipates and  leaves the warframe drifting in space. Baro Ki’Teer and Darvo come in a ship and deploy Clem to retrieve battered warframe from space.  While being drawn into the ship, a cut scene to see shadow stalker floating in space pan to his hand and it twitches. You wake up in one of the relays Baro thanks you and receive your reward and mission report. Then you reload into your ship ready to move on to you next objective.  

Reward: 1 Orokin catalyst, 1 Orokin reactor, 1 forma, funnel color pallet, Fenrir symbol, Umbral Serration (Rank 0), Umbral Streamline (Rank 0) and a Fenrir noggle.

If completed multiple times then a drop table can be established to include vaulted relics, prime warframe parts, prime weapon parts, multiple arcanes, to replace the big rewards from above.

This sounds more like a raid rather than an event.

Community events shouldn't exclude a large amount of the player base. Like having no respawns, having to complete up to and the sacrifice, and having enemies at level 75 with what I can only imagine to be tons of resistances, this doesn't sound all that fun for people who play casually like myself.

I think that instead the event should be accessible to almost everyone. Lower the levels to maybe 40-60 depending on what stage of the event you're on. Don't let the event lock out any of the star chart. Change rewards around the a drop chance and have the noggle and symbol be a rewards upon first completion. The stalker doesn't really fit the narrative of the event and theme, would recommend changing it to instead a corrupted entity that is controlled by the man in the wall. The boss fight has a little too much going on, more so on a technical stand point. I'd recommend probably changing the constant switch up of abilities to something a little more realistic and simpler for the player to understand and figure out.

Other than that I do like the idea of a real community event similar to the rebuilding of the relay. This would be a lot more fun than just the typical "gift of the lotus" alerts.
