WhiteBlaze
White_Blaze from over on twitch here! So, i was shooting the breeze with alot of the folks waiting for the next livestream on twitch later today when i caught myself starting a conversation with a user named Varinger on the Twitch steam chat. i'll skip most of the conversation and jump to the part most folks here might actually be interested in. As the title suggests, we got onto the topic of talking not just about Ordis, but what the next Umbra warframe should be. Here comes the spoiler territory for folks who haven't completed quests "Fragments" and "Sacrifice" of yet. In fragments we learn of the fate of Ordan Karris - the man turned into the ship cephalon known as Ordis, as well as an explanation to all of Ordis's outbursts and "glitched" nature. In "The Sacrifice" we learn of how warframes were made by people being intentionally infected with the Helminth strain of the infested virus, and how Excalibur Umbra was created, what made him different, and finally, to point out the fact that those whom Ballas intentionally infected with this strain were not all willing volunteers, but all whom underwent this hybridization were "the best of the best". So the question remains. we know what happened to Ordan Karris's mind. But where went his body? CLEARLY he was one of the best among the Mercenaries Hired to fight for the Orkoin Empire, and with all the experimentation Ballas had been doing at that time to make the warframes initially. We know it was a punishment when he turned Ordan Karris into Ordis, to serve the tenno as a ship cephalon. Who's to say Ballas wouldn't have re-purposed the body for use in making a new Warframe at that time? We truely dont know much of went down behind the scenes back then. And so i present you the perfect opportunity to continue on with that promise of making future umbra frames. - An Ordis theme quest line involving the taming of another wild umbra frame, that may or may not be made with the body of Ordan Karris, with a catch! the operator will have to find a way to transfer a copy of Ordis from their ship into a device to than implant into the rouge Umbra in order to tame its rage. because we do know from in game lore that Cephalon(s) can be copied, transferred between devices, and so forth. Taming your second Umbra frame by literally having Ordis Help you directly on the mission in this capacity would be a real show stopper. And it could open new possibilities to everyone game play wise. Story wise, Ordis can remain in the ship, or come to assist you directly in the "beast of bones" Umbra warframe when your in operator mode. Game play wise, you could give us the option to buy a custom ship cephalon to take over the ship systems when Ordis is out in the warframe assisting the operator. or, dont and have ordis in two places at once. i mean it is possible after all, just copy and paste his digital mind into the frame and end of story? For folks who liked that Ordis we saw briefly during the sacrifice, i think we liked the brief concept of an upgrade for our ship, but also for those of us who grown attached to ordis and his ways, didn't like it much. but with the second umbra being Ordis's body, we could have that option for those who wanted a new cephalon, while those who dont want ordis to go dont have to change him out. i know, a bit of a ramble here but isn't that what this section is for? (for some reason i couldn't post the idea in the design consul section so might as well post the thought here in the General discussion chat to get it out there while its still fresh. btw, Nice dev stream!) (PSN)Shadow_Of_Hunhow
While I think this is interesting and I'd love to at least have the ability to make ordan karris specters, however I believe considering how he fought in the end there's no way they could've saved his body. He removed his bone plugs which is certain death for their kind.
MagPrime
I would love to know more but your formatting had made the text the same color as the forum back ground right after "and I present to you the perfect" Spoiler I use the dark theme, so this is what it looks like to me after your edit. (PSN)wintersfrozen
All I can think of is that line from Octavia's Anthem quest. "MY DREAM! IT'S COME TRUE! I HAVE JOINED MY OPERATOR IN BATTLE!!"
TARINunit9
I never got the impression Ordan Karris was particularly good. Why would Ballas, the chancellor in charge of an army of demon warrior gods, need some thief from the slums who uses knives made out of ribs? Far more likely that Ordan was kept around because he was untraceable. Tenno would have been covered in tracking devices, but Ordan is perfect for dirty work
Excaliburnn1
So now instead of Ordis talking about sh*t, he's also going to be following us around and talking about sh*t. +

Same. There's a minor difference, but not really worth the effort. Dunno why people mess with the font size and colour. It doesn't really seem to add much. But if it makes them happy, more power to them, I guess.

At least he didn't bold out the whole thing while also making it bright yellow or red. I've seen people do that and it's cancer.

Not necessarily, there's nothing that says all the cephalons were great warriors, or that their bodies were kept. Altho I do have to wonder now just what kind of a sadistic scientist could have Simaris been?
