Somnia
Hildryn can currently become unkillable via the combination of her passive, shield recharge mods, no shield capacity mods, and chiefly a decaying dragon key. Arcane Aegis also helps. The result of this combination is that her very low shields will recharge back to full capacity within her passive's invulnerability period. This effect can be looped indefinitely, rendering her invulnerable at no cost, free from energy leeching effects, nullifiers, and the ability reset of falling off a map. Only an immediate slash/toxin proc could still deal any kind of damage if she somehow doesn't also receive enough damage to deplete her shields. Proposed change: Decaying Dragon Keys should also disable her passive. Edit: oop, found the megathread, merge this into that please Edited March 14, 2019 by Oaxs
birdobash
Judging from the fact that you specifically stated that "arcane aegis also helps" I'm assuming you actually haven't tested it yourself, since the build solely relies on arcane aegis, it doesn't just "help", it's the thing that makes it work in the first place. I've tested it myself thoroughly outside the simulacrum and inside, and the simulacrum is a bad place to test something like this, as you'll never have 20 enemies shooting at you specifically at once in any mission, their attention will always be split into teammates, and several other factors make it much less likely theyll hit you. This build relies on the fact that simulacrum enemies hit you so many times a second that you'll almost 100% of the time get the arcane aegis buff up within the first 3 second window, but outside of the simulacrum, it is much more likely you'll be whittled down and only take 2-5 shots during your invincibility phase, meaning the loop isn't reliably sustained. I posted a thread about it a few hours ago, read up on it. The build in question is SO niche and unreliable it's not even funny, it REALLY doesn't need a nerf of any sort, throwing nerfs it would literally make less sense than throwing nerfs at assimilate nyx. Xzorn
Gratz. Now you know one of many reasons Shield Gating has always been a bad approach to improving Shields as a health type. I planned on doing this the moment the idea was brought up long before Hyldren. Even have two Aegis sets. Though mostly cuz they're just better than Barrier. The least problematic approach is to treat shields as Deflective Barrier shielding that weakens each time it's hit. Reverse Adaptation in a way but more simple and diluted. ADirtyMonk
1. This loop is unsustainable outside of spawning a #*!%ton of rapid fire enemies and standing in the middle of them in the simulacrum. 2. Unless you are modding for very high efficiency, in which case your abilities become impotent anyways, you are locking yourself out of being able to cast all of your skills. Hildryn already has nothing to boost her weapon damage. You basically turn yourself into an RNG dependent blob. 3. Why is this an issue? Wukong does the same thing. Inaros has effectively the same amount of survivability, etc.

Haven't tested it with fully upgraded Arcane Aegis myself, though I have seen others mentioning it a lot; mine is the bare lowest and just one, and I've been supplementing the build with Rolling Guard in regular gameplay. Haven't stress tested it in the simulacrum. It's been pretty reliable without paying too much attention. It's seemed like the dragon key lowering it to such a great extent has been the greater lynchpin making it work. Since energy orb pickups force start her shield regen, that might also be helping me. If everyone's certain it's a non-issue, by all means, I won't complain about leaving it be. Just giving DE a heads-up that this might be something worth taking a look at if it's unintended design. I also didn't suggest any changes to the frame itself, but to the dragon key's intended effect. Edited March 14, 2019 by Oaxs
(XBOX)GearsMatrix301
Is she unkillable? Yes. Can she do anything aside from shooting guns? No. IMO it’s completely balanced.
Xzorn
It's very contrary and near exploitative of her kit. Being immortal isn't really jarring. It's just not good design. I planed on doing a 2-3 hour solo run and showing 0 abilities used if possible. Prolly won't even put mods on her. Just a total mockery of design pretty much. I'm a jerk like that. The sad part is without this I'm betting she's fairly squishy. Time will tell when I get her. What I read so far doesn't impress me so I'm not spending plat.
