Dojo - Saving room decoration layouts

So, we're still stuck with the current problem.
As it was brushed over.
Meaning, we're still stuck with this;

Spoiler

Appearently, that very post got deleted. Can't find it anywhere anymore.
But it was about the option, to move the lower tier halls, we placed on the side temporarily.

So we would not be forced, to trash our fully decorated tier 4 hall.

Meanwhile, we're working on other ideas of the dojo.
So the next one came to pass:

- How about implementing a set of slots (maybe 3 save slots), to save a room's decorations + polychrome settings?

What would this all be good for?

Well, off course, it would be the solution for our problem:

This hall's layout and polychrome settings could be stored.
Allowing us to remove the hall, followed by removing tier 3, and then tier 2.

Followed by giving a definitive location to hall tier 2, then tier 3.
And eventually, restoring hall tier 4 to this same location.

Then we'd simply, apply the saved data, and nothing goes to waste.

Not only would this beneficial to us, but to the whole community.

As for example:
You have a hallway, and wish to decorate each one, the same way.

The saved data of that one room, can then be applied, to each room of the same type (it will give a prompt when it doesn't allign with it's parent design).
Making the creation of a long hallway, that looks the same in each section, a very easy to use tool.
(It will also give a prompt, when not enough resources are available)

It would also allow, for certain rooms (sharing the same room type), to be copied. (several rooms decorated as ship hangars for example)

That would be a wonderful feature indeed.
It would even be handy for people still having legacy decorations.
Our clan leader is a founder.
So we have several 'orokin' dojo rooms.

Re-adjusting the early layout of those, without having to destroy said mementos...
It would be a blessing for everyone.

And it becomes even more apparent, how much we need such a feature.
Especially for rooms of which you can only place 1 copy.

This one is in that location for a few years now.

And the sudden refurbishing, brings these extremely painful obstacles.
As it will eventually come to a new spot.
Making room for a new hallway.

So now, we are stuck with the option to leave everything, a complete mess.

  • Or start kicking out members, so we can downgrade to 10 people.
  • Followed by destroying the shadow barraks.
  • Rebuild them in the new location.
  • Then start contacting all kicked members, to re-invite them.

All this, with the added restrictions that have been implemented.
Disabling long-time members, from using the dojo for a while.
Don't want to think what this is going to be like, for a moon clan...

And who is going to make that sacrifice?
It's like picking straws.

We desperately, definately, could use a feature.
To simply, relocate existing rooms.
Many of us would love to see a feature like this be added.

Could be nice to just move fully built rooms around while no one is in the dojo. Sadly not a thing and had to plan out where I want rooms on a builder site before starting...

It would end thousand of nightmares, that millions of Tenno, run into.

  • 4 years later...

As a handicapped person,  I spent so much of my time and effort,  working countless hours from joint pain and severe physical discomfort, from all of the aligning floors, walls and ceiling parts to each other , and for it to be seamless,  and it took me about a month and a half to build a large room (a fairly easy complex/plan of work, if not for my physical state)

The room I built needs to be replicated 12 times,  if not 14. And doing that is very physically tasking. If there could have been an option of copying the design of one room and placing it in a different one, it would be godsent and a wish come true.  I don't even think that the copied design itself MUST automatically drain the resources to successfully build itself, because in my opinion, it'll be much easier and less of a migraine to just manually fund individual parts so that you can pick what and when should be built first and basically prioritise and maximise the efficiency of the construction.

If this feature is not considered heavily yet,  then I think it should be heavily considered, at least because of handicapped people like me to break the silence on the matter and get this impemented so absolutely EVERYONE benefits from this time saving, godsend of a feature.
