Bunny Ears Are Stupid

At least, those were his last words.

In my latest arbitration (defense), I had a teammate leave after the 6th wave because bunny ears were "retarded". This concludes the funniest reason I've tossed someone on the ignore list. Here is a picture of my Nezha as condolences for this thread's title.

I really don't get this mentality. It's a fun little thing to celebrate a fun little holiday. If you don't like it, don't wear it. If someone else is wearing it and you're triggered to the point of rage, just leave quietly. There's no need to spread your negativity.

(Note that I'm talking about the person in the OP's statement, not the OP themselves. I read the post!)

Tbh they would be kinda "meh" if it wasn't for the physics. It's fraking hilarious seeing them swivel around on the otherwise dead serious looking frames when working your way through missions. Especially Nekros is my favorite so far 😄

Eh the only problem I have with the bunny ears is the Right one has always been a bit glitchy and they have never seemed to fix it.

Sorta surprised that someone was so offended by the bunny ears that they left a mission over them, then again it's the internet, no I'm not 😛

My problem with the ears is that they don't stay available all year long.

My problem is they exist at all.

I have a deep antipathy to cutesy crap in otherwise ostensibly serious games. I realize there's a demographic that swoons over this sort of thing, but catering to it is a mistake if you want your game to continue in the vein of its original design.

Of course, in this case it's an acknowledgement of a holiday and a (thankfully) of very short term, so it's tolerable. Barely.

I mean, the bunny ears and egg ephemera are kinda stupid if you approach warframe as trying to be a serious game with a serious story, but even then, there's plenty of serious games with serious stories that do stupid stuff now and then for the player base.

Personally I think they look silly/stupid but the game isn't forcing me to wear them so what do I care if someone else does?  I'm certainly not going to ragequit a mission because people in the group are wearing them.  That's even sillier than I think the ears look lol.

Also, I'm agnostic.  If DE wants to add silly/fun stuff for whatever religion I honestly don't give a crap.  Have at it!

I don't think that bunny ears are all that silly in warframe at all. I mean, why would they be silly if Mesa's cowgirl hat isn't silly? It is a completely unnecessary anachronism on a futuristic zombified death puppet. What about the helmet for Saryn that has princess hair? Or the whole concept of Titania? Why are bunny ears the final straw when we already are neck deep in crazy?

Atheist here, I don't give a rat's ass. Besides, they're so commercialized that they have next to nothing to do with Christianity or the older religions they lifted the ideas from.

I disagree. Not about the commercialisation, but about that making it have nothing to do with the origins of the holiday and it's what I like most about it. Christmas hasn't been intended to be Christian-only, super-religious festival since its inception. The Celebration was placed in the year because several similar festivals - Saturnalia and Yule for example - were around that time and the Church wanted to stamp out the 'pagan' celebrations without actually wiping out the celebrations. Even then, though, the story's pretty inclusive all things considered. The Wise Men weren't Jews for example. They just came along and were like "Hi, we recognise this figure prophesied to be a great king has been born, and we came to pay him homage."  Some of the celebrations Christmas merged with were of a similar 'all-inclusive' vein - Roman Saturnalia was all about breaking of social norms. Crossdressing and a one-day swap between masters and slaves were among the traditions.

The whole POINT of Christmas for thousands of years has been "It's a religious-y time of year, probably maybe. Let's all get S***FACED!" And I love it. Ironically, the more somber, reverent tone is the corruption, not the commercialisation and party focus.

If you disagree with random people on the internet so what just laugh it out and move on, you probably wont even meet them again. Ignore list wont stop you get matchmaked with them again btw, and what if you get matched and he/she say something important in chat? Youre the only one in the squad who wont be seeing the message, its you who have all the disadvantage so its like handicapping yourself, the people you ignore doesnt even know you ignore them lol.

By adding them to your precious "ignore list" just show whos the bitter one here.
