Having only one animal companion out of stasis, detrimental to variety or not?

it is kind of annoying since i like to switch between smeeta and adarza if i want the guaranteed crit chance, but hey, i wont complain since it doesnt take 3 hours to switch anymore and they are removing it completely at some point.
