Massive FPS hit after triggering Conduit

While the Disruption game mode seems to maintain a solid frame rate just fine, triggering a Conduit often causes a substantial but temporary loss of framerate. My FPS drops from a stable 120 down to 60 for a few seconds, then slowly inches back to its stable state. This seems to be the most pronounced with the Electrical Arcs modifier, but happens to some extent with seemingly all of them. I can't speak to whether this happens as a client, but it certainly happens as a host. The issue happens consistently every time I trigger an Electrical Arcs Conduit, though its severity seems to vary.
