HazelCapulus
I'm genuinely curious- To people who buy frames with plat, why do you do it? I'm not judging, or angry, or irritated- And if you don't buy frames and just want to be hostile, this isn't the thread for you. I'm just curious- My general thought process is that buying the frames kinda cheats you out of the fun of acquiring the frame, but then I see stuff like Atlas or Equinox and I shudder. (Cue the 'I got Equinox in an hour' people) I'm mostly just wondering because I'm genuinely wondering if I should just buy Wisp (Because all I need is one nitain) or Baruuk (Because I'm having trouble getting the systems to rank up) at this point.
(PSN)N7_Dredgen
1. I want it so bad to play right away. 2. Hildryn was a special one because she was all I needed to hit MR27 so I bought her bundle the moment the update hit so I could be MR27 ASAP.

I definitely know how you feel for the former. For the latter, I think that's a fair reason 😀
AltheusV
When they are really good and the grind to get them is too onerous. The only frame I ever bought was Nidus. Be patient with the Niatain, there is a gift from the lotus happening that will drop some. The idea that buying the frame cheats you out of the fun of acquiring it only works if the process of acquisition is actually fun. Repeatedly pursuing a 5% drop chance isn't something I'm going to do so I'll either buy it or go without.
PurrrningBoop
For Primes (vaulted ones) when just strated playing - because I was impatient when some were vaulted and I really wanted to get those (farmed plat). Hildryn - a potato laptop (def won't survive next minimum req. change), trying to kill a boss with 15 fps was painful (farmed plat). Other frames were farmed. BloodKitten
well, tennogen cost real money and not platinum, so thats the main reason, dont want some idiotic person reporting me for hoarding plat and ruining the market by not sharing it (cause aperrently people are that childish and dont understand people can spend or save thier currency if they wish)
zuraith
I bought Limbo because I was dumb and sold him. Other than that I've gotten Prime Access a couple times; the way I see it, you get a Prime frame, a bunch of plat to spend on whatever (primarily slots and boosters for me), and it supports the game I've spent so many hours enjoying. How did i do it ? Simple, i cashed all 132K standing in both of my syndicates for relic packs, got lucky and got all of the parts in multiple relics, got lucky again and got all of the 4 parts needed from Radshare, i rushed the parts, i rushed the frame and i had it. P.S. i only rushed the build on Equinox and Mesa, the rest was 3 days wait time. So that's it. Edited May 24, 2019 by Bl4ckM0onk3y

There are definitely some frames that are just too exhausting to even try with, I feel that. 2 minutes ago, PurrrningBoop said: For Primes - because I was impatient when some were vaulted and I really wanted to get those (farmed plat). Oh, with primes/prime access, I definitely understand that. I'll be honest, I buy Prime Access every time it comes around, which only makes it harder to resist the urge to buy every new frame with a big lump of plat to spend. Guest
Not gonna wait 4 days to get Wisp and her big butt because I don't believe in rushing for plat. Basically the same for every new frame that appears because I can get the plat to buy them. If the frame is too ugly, then maybe I will consider farming it over time and treating it as MR fodder. Another one is if I am too lazy to farm. Like for Harrow, I hated defection so much, I wasn't gonna waste time on getting this ... thing.
Gabbynaru
Farming plat is easier (and to me, more satisfying) than farming the frame itself.
Ace-Bounty-Hunter
I've had a relatively easy time farming all of the frames. Took me a few evenings to get Equinox and I averaged about 4 or 5 runs to get all the parts for Nekros, Atlas, Saryn, Trinity and Mesa. So far, only Nidus has been a real pain. Taking over 50 runs before his final blueprint dropped. The only frame I have bought with plat was Harrow. Though I did use a 75% discount from the Daily Tribute to get him. You already answered the question by posing it: when the frame is so un-fun to acquire that I rather do actual work (aka earn money irl) than farm it. It has happened twice so far that I can remember: Infested Alad V (at least I think it was him) : mostly the key farm on this one got really on my nerves. The boss also wasn't exactly enjoyable to solo (which I did until I ran out of keys) and since you couldn't queue for it at release that was like the only way to do it for me (I can't be bothered dealing with recruiting chat) Jordas Golem : the game has a few obnoxious bosses, but this one takes the cake, and the whole bakery too. Archwing + bullet sponge, how about just no. Edited May 24, 2019 by marelooke

Archwing + bullet sponge, how about just no. Am I missing something? How exactly is Jordas Golem difficult? I started farming him the other day with an unranked Odonata Prime/Imperator Vandal and he died in about 30 seconds. Not even the Juggernaut Behemoth posed a threat because any weapon modded with Hunter Munitions kills him in seconds. The only thing I disliked about it was the unskippable cutscene. Voltage
I try really hard to restrain myself from buying new Warframes/weapons because as you purchase things in the market, you are removing content to play through in my eyes. However, I totally understand some items. Sometimes you really want it, and sometimes it's like the Wolf Sledge on release.
Leyvonne
1. I bought Mesa Prime Access to support DE. 2. I buy frames that are locked behind content that I am unable to do or really struggle to do due to health issues (so far only Hildryn and Ivara). BelialEliatron
il y a 39 minutes, HazelCapulus a dit : (Because all I need is one nitain) or Baruuk (Because I'm having trouble getting the systems to rank up) For the nitain part, just wait the devstream, they've sayd it will be a gift of the lotus with nitain extract https://twitter.com/PlayWarframe/status/1131607096166891525 As for baruuk, it's not that hard to gain standing in the vox thx to the big toroid who give 12k reputation il y a 42 minutes, HazelCapulus a dit : I'm genuinely curious- To people who buy frames with plat, why do you do it? For this, i only buyed 2 frames: Oberon at the begining cause i didn't know how to farm and all And Limbo cause f his quest And if we talk about the prime access, it's mostly because: I need some platinium I like the accessories and/or the frames
HazelCapulus
These are all really interesting! I'd quote them all and give my proper responses to each of you but I'd rather not have a mile long response ^^; Plus you're all saying pretty similar things. This is really enlightening. Thank you all!
Marihel
I only bought Khora due to I really wanted her, but when the game mode to farm her was just introduced it had countless issues. Didn´t feel like farming for hours risking to lose it all to a host migration. But besides that, I farmed all my other ones.
CHVE
I think many players buy some Prime Frames (from other players) because they are vaulted. For "normal" Frames: I never bought one, despite beeing totally exhausted farming Ivara, Equi, Harrow (still don't have him) or Khora. But my opinion: This is what the game is about. Farm some stuff, get good thing and have some really hard things to get. But it gives you a good feeling when you get the part you wanted in the end. Only thing I would buy are 1-2 Mastery Rank Tests (like 26, which is not do-able for me).
Veridian
I've bought 4 frames with plat in my lifetime. 1: Harrow, Nidus and Ivara, because RNG hates me and I hate defecation and infested garbage and Ivara just didn't drop. 2: Garuda, knew I was going to love the play style enough to be worth it and it was. I'd advise you to wait on those.
(XBOX)Shodian
Usually it's because I get a 75% coupon and I have lots of plats.
0_The_F00l
I got Mesa, cause RNG behind RNG behind rare invasion reward RNG. And darvo had one of his deals, so no significant loss. Also bought Mesa p access cause Christmas and I usually buy one PA per year.
Cubewano
Generally I'll buy a frame if I feel particularly excited about its design/kit as a mixed bag of letting DE know this is where my interests are at and to let em know I appreciate the job they did with it, they give me something nice I try to give back and what not. That said however I do refuse to and will never make a purchase in response to bad designs or to get around an awful grind, even if the core product is something I'm interested in, for similar sentiments. I don't believe in rewarding bad will/practices. All in all, buy something if you think it's a worthwhile thing that you'd enjoy and are fairly interested in, otherwise maybe wait it out and see if you just start to naturally lean more one way or the other. Definitely don't buy something if you are doing it to avoid an unpleasant experience however, that just promises more of the same in the future.
