Failsafe Conduit in Disruption mode.

Question

Hello! I've made a post in Off topic cause it's the first time I posted something but they told me that it belongs here, so... here we go!
I've found several times hidden on the map something that looks like a datamass that is called Failsafe Conduit in disruption missions. Ordis says that there is only one in the entire map and that is kind of a tactical dilemma to use it.
Thing is, I don't know what is it for. When getting close to an already operative colour conduit, it just eats it and starts to hover over that conduit, but I don't seem to notice anything.
Can someone tell me what is it for? Thank you in advance and sorry for the troubles.

A failsafe is a procedure designed to prevent a a complete system crash, in this context I would presume that it simply stops the Demolyst from 'sploding the Conduit.

Sprinklers can be considered a failsafe, designed to prevent the total destruction of the building they're situated in in case of a fire.

I found one the first time I played Disruption (during the event) and I had no idea they were so rare

There are a few rules in regards to the Conduit Failsafe:

  • Spawn

One's guaranteed to spawn once you hack the starting door. The Failsafe spawns coincides with Cephalon Fragment spawns and their equivalents (Somachord Tunes, Ayatan Sculptures, etc.)

  • Despawning

The Failsafe will despawn once a round is finished and if no player is carrying the Failsafe. However, if a player was carrying it, it won't despawn until the Failsafe is used or if it gets despawned as mentioned before.

It's rare because no one bothers to find the Failsafe in the first place. It's just a matter of how most negative Conduit effects are considered an annoyance more than an actual detriment. The Conduit Failsafe comes in handy if you see the Energy Drain condition.

Do you have a source for this? I can't see this information on the wiki. Are you saying that the failsafe needs to be picked up before the first round ends or it's gone for good? Interesting if that's the case. I did a bunch of trials to get failsafes to spawn when I was trying to get Alad V's dialogue lines for the game mode, but I don't recall if I ever picked up any in later rounds.

From my test runs, the Failsafe will despawn if no one is carrying it and when a round ends (the final Demolyst/Demolisher is killed). Once it despawns or when it's used, it's gone for good as it only spawns once.

Cool.  Never ever even seen one of these lol..

The only console effect I hate is enemy speed+.  I would disable that one so hard....

But I think the negative effects go away if you save the console right???  So there is soooooo little reason to bother hunting down a failsafe....   I guess if you can find it BEFORE needing it....     But people above said it goes away between rounds??  Its auto-gobbled by any console you go near????  So again.....super pointless......
