Good weapons for beginners that can be used for sorties?

Question

So I'm a new player just hit mr9 and have progressed to pluto. I'm kind of unable to do sorties because I dont have access to stronger mods specifically the corrupted and dual stat mods. I have been using mag and a braton prime which had been forma'd 4 times and my first forma I forgot to change the polarity (its really sad to think about it). Can anyone tell me how to finish sorties with other weapons that doesnt require dual stat mods or weapons that can easily clear through high level enemies with the help of a little forma?

I'm currently using a braton prime with a viral/slash build although i dont have dual stat mods for cold and toxic damage and no access to fanged fusillade as well but still it works fine till the 3rd sortie mission. As of now I have finished 2 sorties since unlocking the sortie missions for the past 5 days. I just need help with build or what to do right now to progress through these high level content. My frames currently are: mag, titania, banshee, chroma prime.

P.S. sorry for the unnecessarily long message😊

Hello MagicalW, I'm mr10 and mostly use Corinth shotgun for high level enemies (such as sorties). In my personal opinion, Corinth is a quite flexible shotgun with decent status and crit chance which is good to adapt with specific conditions for sorties, like enemy physical or elemental enhanced resistance. Other than Corinth, there are Drakgoon (shotgun), Dread (stalker's bow with high crit chance), or Tigris (shotgun) which those three I strongly recommend for high level enemies especially Drakgoon if you using Mag because you can maximized Drakgoon wide bullets spread with Mag abilites.

Furthermore, I highly recommend you to get some corrupted mods such as Transient Fortitude, Blind Rage, and Narrow Minded for your Chroma Prime, because in case you don't know, Chroma's 3rd ability (Vex Armor) can boost your damage output higher than 300% when your health got hit while also boosting your armor value when your shield got hit. With that amount of damage buff, weapons such as Corinth and Tigris will be more than capable to handle high level enemies even without rare mods, and yes, shotgun is my primary choice. Hope it helps! :)

Weapons are not that important in sorties, what is more important is using the right frame for the right mission. Unless it's an exterminate mission, in which using the right frame, again, can neutralize the need for weapons.

Here's what I usually do:

Saryn - Exterminate/Survival (Throw a spore and than just run and hit 4, run hit 4, etc...)

Limbo - Defense/Excavation (Literally get to defense target, cast 4 and 2 and just wait. If enemy is corpus try to snipe nullifier enemies. Or use Frost.)

Loki - Spy/Capture/Assassinate/Rescue (Pretty self explanatory. Be invisible, run through map. If mission is assassinate or capture, only than use weapon just for 1 target).

Anyway, as for weapons, I usually use Ignis Wraith for groups or Rubico Prime for bosses.

Secondary, catchmoon kitgun, staticor for AoE, aklex for literal bullets in head.

Melee is paracesys, wolf melted in 30 seconds.

Thanks for the weapon choice 🙂 I dont really use shotguns that much. I like to use a lot of assault rifles though. But i get why you like to use shotguns, they just deal tons of damage in one shot. Thanks for the tips about using chroma prime, it seems I just cant get the hang of it when it comes to using him. I'll try to use the drakgoon though. Thanks 🙂

I'll keep in mind all of these frames. I think I'll farm loki prime right now because he seems to be an all-arounder and I dont have warframe slots right now. When it comes to bosses can I use a normal rubico right now or do I need to have a rubico prime so that I could progress through easily?

Thanks 🙂

No, you can use the regular rubico just as well.

Loki is great also for pretty much everything, since invisibility means you pretty much can't be attacked (unless very unlucky or get in the way of shots) and you can get 28 sec invis without even formaing or potatoing him, which if you have zenurik dash, means perma invisibility.

As for using chroma, the easiest method is to get a self damage weapon to trigger his Vex buff - I'm using Cerata and a single charged hit at the ground brings me to 800% buff.

Actually if you don't have those mods then you should go get them... Your mods are far more important than your weapon. That being said.... Every single type of Braton in this game is rubbish.... don't waste any more forma on it....

I will always continue to say this.

Bo-->Tipedo--->Lesion

bo can crafted into the tipedo which can then be crafted into the Lesion.

If you get drifting contact and a single dual stat status mod, it will bring it up to a %60 status chance, and its a primarily slash heavy weapon, meaning its damn good.

Other than that, mods are your bread and butter, they can turn trash weapons into decent weapons.

Chroma is actually a really good choice for an all-purpose (-spy) frame. Configure for Cold spec if you want an insane armour boost on Elemental Ward, or Heat spec for a smallish health boost that can often keep you alive long enough to get distance on a large tangle of mobs.

I've rarely needed to self-damage, as I'll pop Elemental Ward and Vex, and then just wade into the middle of the enemy. During most Sortie missions, you'll take enough hits to push both the armour and damage bonus from Vex to pretty insane levels, and then even the most average weapon becomes OP.

For real amusement, grab a staff/polearm/greatsword, drop in bloodlust and berserker if you can get them, and then just go mental on a big pack of mobs. Between a skyrocketing crit bonus, attack speed and the damage boost from Vex, you'll clear rooms in no time.
