Any tips for when Limbo is in squad?

Question

So several times I have found myself in a squad with someone playing Limbo and they keep casting something that makes me not be able to hit mobs for a bit, and they do this over and over. It's getting quite frustrating but something tells me that it's me (being new) that doesn't know how to properly capitalize on this. So I am asking if anyone has any tips/advice on what I should be doing when they activate this ability? Is there some way I can use this to my advantage?

Firstly - if you roll then it’ll take you out. What’s happening is Limbo is putting you into the rift. Unless you’ve played Limbo yourself, it’ll be difficult to understand the mechanics.

Unless I’m either solo or split from my team, I don’t tend to use my 1 because of accidental trolling.

In your case, it’s probably a troll or a new Limbo who doesn’t know what they’re doing. If you’re around the Limbo quest, I’d imagine the latter.

You have options - roll to get out, ask the Limbo to stop banishing you (if they’re new they’ll listen), report if they’re trolling you via the report system, leave the mission or use it to your advantage. You gain energy and are invincible (unless an enemy is also with you in the rift) for the duration of the banish.

Hope that helps.

That is the rift. It stops you from hitting enemies. If you are both in the rift, or both out of it you can hit them. Not if one is in the rift, the other not. It can help you not die, or protect defence targets. You can use your abilities to damage through the rift.

To escape: roll, or get out of the bubble.

unless the limbo player is a massive trolling twit, i'd wager that's cataclysm. it's a big bubble, and if you exit the bubble, you can shoot enemies outside it, or stay inside and shoot the dudes that come in.

OK this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. So energy regen goes up while in this rift? I guess I didn't notice that. I could see staying in for a few seconds, topping off energy then rolling out being quite useful.

Thanks!

I'm thinking at least one of them was a "trolling twit". I encountered him doing the Earth Defense to get the initial ranks on 3 new weapons and he kept chain casting it with a VERY large range (covered the whole base and a good bit outside of it). I asked him to stop and he either did not see it (I don't like how the chat window is hidden and you have to essentially pause to use it)  or ignored my request to stop. I ended up bailing at the first evac point because it was taking forever to clear those first 5 super easy waves..

No problem!

And as others have said, another method could be the cataclysm. This is a bubble that creates a permanent rift zone. The bubble will decrease over time until it collapses on itself. As it is the rift, you cannot damage enemies inside if shooting from the outside and vice versa. It combines with Limbo’s 2 ability where they can freeze any enemies that are in the rift (so either banished or in the bubble).

I love playing Limbo and I would recommend him to players if played correctly. Generally as a “Limbomb” for syndicate missions and a high duration / low range for defence.

As you progress you should meet less idiots trolling and more people playing Limbo properly.
