How to Parry and Amalgam javlok

Question

I have never even parried ever in warframe or not intended at least, is block and parry the same I have no clue, Im only interested in this because of the amalgam javlok mod which gives a bonus to sword and shields when shield is used to parry or something like that.

-How to do a parry and what do I have to do to trigger the effect from the amalgam javlok mod and how does it work, im using ack and brunt as sword and shield

So the question is answered: When melee is out just press channel and wait for enemies to shoot at you

hit the channeling (middle mouse click) to activate the parry affect

Wait, what? Channeling is just.. channeling thing, isn't it? It just adds damage and consumes energy per hit.

As for parrying, my guess is that it means simply being equipped with sword and shield and have it out (hide primary/secondary weapon). Another guess is that it means block. Auto-block - when equipped with another weapon, not melee alone; manual block - when equipped melee only and right mouse button being held.

But I'm not sure about these. Haven't figured out for myself how this works, too.

Warframe kinda sucks at explaining the nuances of these things.  You can melee parry and do a finisher against a target if you hit channel and cancel that channel when that attack lands when you are close to that target... thats considered a ''true'' parry in reality. But in this game  the act of channeling is parrying. You reflect all damage for energy cost. Confusing i know.

Just know that the act of Channeling is Parrying.
