So what are some weapons you feel are awesome looking but are basically MR fodder?

Here is my list:

  • Snipetron Vandal
  • Lato Vandal
  • Braton Vandal
  • Dera Vandal
  • Panthera
  • Detron
  • Flux Rifle
  • Karak Wraith
  • Vasto Prime
  • Destreza Prime
  • Fang Prime
  • Latron Prime
  • Synoid Gammacor
  • All Skanas
  • Almost all Corpus weapons

Oh Miter, how I wish it was so much better, Spitting buzzsaw blades that reflect & ricochet all over the place like you just launched a little piece of sonic the hedgehogs soul.

And drakgoon I would love to break it out to turn everything into a fine red paste, but alas, Pyrana prime does the job faster with better ammo efficiency, damage & style.

And lastly my old dear friend Sobek, your reload time even with mods, just cant cut the mustard, hell it couldnt cut the cheese at a Packers game. But pleasing to the eye as a pairn of doom barrels with a drum that says I am here to empty this drum as many times as i can for all your loot.

Convectrix makes me sad honestly. The concept is great: a double-barreled Flux Rifle that uses laser beams like scissors in order to slice mooks into pieces. It looks pretty neat and has a lot of animated bits, including the ability to fold up for reloading and storage. It even sounds cool, with its deep roar upon firing and the low-pitched hum of its beams contrasting the usual high-pitched whine of Corpus laser weapons. 

But man, that primary firing mode is just horrible to use. You look at a Grineer bloke and pull the trigger, but then have to waste ammo and time as the beams converge before you can inflict the full damage of the weapon (as each beam does half of the listed damage). Meanwhile your average gun has already shot the poor Lancer dead, and has moved on to putting holes in bigger and better things. Even worse, there was a brief moment after the beam weapon rework where Convectrix was actually usable and then DE cratered it by adding damage ramp up to beam weapons. So not only do you have to wait for the beams to converge, but you also have to wait for your damage to ramp up after the fact.

And don’t even get me started on that sad excuse for an alternative firing mode. Such a waste, especially with the current beam mechanics.

well there is always the possibility of wraith versions of those being released, at least

From all they released lately, the most disappointing one was battacor.. this weird and awkward decreased flight speed is just unnecessary..

Most secondary weapons are just crap, they are good because we have a riven for them and anyway they are secondary...

Unfortunately i think DE develops the weapons only on the paper. Bullets weapons or weapons with a long charge should be buffed, it's useless if they have a slight better damage or high status chance if you are not able to hit the enemies. Yes i already wrote myself  most of the weapons look nice, you waste formas and you discover it has been a waste of time even with a god riven. Yes ok we have to wait for a special or prime version hoping it will be usable and wasting again time and formas...

Yes but take a kit gun even with a trash riven and these stats are not so good anymore... The lato is nice because it has a 5 riven disposition, try to be honest...

I agree there. The Riven dispo props up the Lato(s). It's still a single-shot hitscan weapon without punchthrough.

Meanwhile, in Kitgun land:

Expect these rivens to only go down until they've reached 1/5 dispo.

Nah, vasto prime can 1 clip most enemies with the right riven. Level 160s mind you, 5 disposition too.

I agree with you mostly, except when it comes to the miter. If you manage to get a dmg multi riven for it you can 1 to 3 shot level 160 corrupted bombards. Plus miter rivens are dirt cheap.

Not really? They're decent stats fully modded & riven'd up, the pistol's gonna drop mooks, and I won't say it don't. But when I go somewhere crunchy, I don't want to kill one enemy per click, I want to nuke rooms, one way or another - and the Lato(s) don't do that. They worked well in a time of narrow corridors, where we'd see a few enemies at a time. Nowadays, with many more open spaces and enemy clusters rolling in, we're much more inclined to use the AoE gear.
