After watching the live stream discussion about what to do with Nekros Desecrate, I had an idea. What if desecrate was a timed radial ability, almost like Ember's overheat was. The difference being that all bodies within Nekros' Desecrate radius would instantly yield resources, ammo etc, and then they would get sucked into Nekros almost like carrier's ability. This would definitely be viable in the heat of battle and you could still run around and use other abilities whilst Desecrate reels the loot in. Thoughts?

This is great idea imo and they might have ways to implement it very easily without tweaking with death animations where it does not work atm.

 

Lets say it would pulse like twice per second (once per corpse ofc) for 6-8 seconds or so.

Seems good, you could easily remove the sucking-items-in aspect of it if you think it overlaps with Carrier too much.  I like this change, if we must keep Desecrate instead of replacing it.

Or you could just leave desecrate as is and equip a carrier.

 

Desecrate and Carrier ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. Desecrate gives you a chance of getting MORE loot from enemies than they have already dropped. Carrier just picks up the mods that are there. There is a huge difference and the devs actually admitted to the current iteration of Desecrate to be clunky and unviable on the battlefield.

It's fine the way it is.  The "Not viable in the heat of battle" is simply wrong, like saying Blessing isn't viable in the heat of battle.

 

Furthermore, it wouldn't match up to the current desecrate, which only has a chance to extract from any given corpse in range.  You can make up for that with multiple casts.  Here you couldn't.

Pretty much isnt faul of Desecrate, i really like the skill since you can literally full a room with red/blue orbs the problem LIES in the "evaporation" rate of the deads and the effects thats wipe the whole body ( im looking at you NOVA and DEATHCUBE)
