Clan tier raised during an operation

so during the operation hostile mergers event the tier of my clan was raised from ghost to shadow. this seems to have increased the point cost for the statues, does anyone know if the point cost goes down if i reduce my clan tier back to ghost before the event is over?

as it turns out even though the tier was raised during the event (since we have the bronze statue with a combined score of 12000 (raised to 20000 specifically to get the gold trophy)) you cannot reduce the clan size back to what it was at the start of the event.
