FlyingFoxel Posted May 30, 2019 Share Posted May 30, 2019 The new map looks cool but is nonfunctional the new lighting effects and tone make the arena damn near unplayable compared to the older cleaner and brighter looking versions. The pallet clashes with the theme of nefs guys and makes it hard to track enemies with how dark it is. With the insane amount of vertical space in the room, you can waste 20-30 seconds just looking for them as the AI does not use this space effectively. Switching from staying in 2 corners to wandering at random only on lower levels means unless we cheese the room they are hard to find compared to the other maps. I get it it's a new map but why is it coming at the cost of the map universally loved? This new map brings the quarters so close compared to the other older two. The frames normally used for index feel damn near worthless unless they are of the tank type. Specifically Mesa, Umbra, and ash. this makes it feel like it was aimed at slowing down the index not adding a new vector and angle of play. Why give us a place to farm credits then nerf the things we use on those maps by removing the maps they work on? Hey, I am all for new maps but can we keep the stuff that worked and was good instead of trying to fix what isn't broke by removing things people liked. I know I am not alone in this opinion, I asked all the players I been running index today with and without exception all felt the same over 60 people. ninjashadowghost Posted June 2, 2019 Share Posted June 2, 2019 Oh, was wondering if I was having bad luck today when I wasn't finding the old small map and decided to search online. Well, I guess my fear they had removed it was true. Yeah, I am not a fun of the new map either. The first time I saw it, I was interested. Second time, told my team I disliked it at the end. It's dark, enemies are hard to see half of the time resulting in me over using Mesa's 4th because at least she can see them. A lot of going back and forth trying to find them only to end up camping at staircase next to the goal they sometimes spawn at. The outdoor map used to be my least favorite but compared to this I welcome it when I see it. Wished we had more like the indoor maps since it was straight forward and quick but I guess that's not the route they want to go. And yeah, it does feel like the map is intentionally there to have you drag your feet for those credits.Only thing I fear now is they might change Hydron's tile set to make it slower to grind xp. And the thing is, I just did that quest where you fight on the Index to save that little girl and guess what, it still used the previous indoor map, so its still in the game for sure. seems there are plenty of players that have not experience conclave maps at all this so call "new" map is just a small tweak and reskin of a conclave pvp map (Gas Works). then people ask why conclave is a dead and useless aspect within the game. the only reason to have such a big map like this is to make players spend more time trying to farm for more credits. The map is really too dark and I can't see not only Nef's guys (as OP mentioned) but also my own teammate specters (yeah, I'm doing it solo mostly). And in case I see someone there it's hard to tell if it is a friend or foe without looking at the name (which most of the time I don't) or spending some time trying to see if those bright parts on whatever I saw are reminding me of any warframe glow patterns I know. Not to mention I just lost the game by not being able to find single enemy over entire starting timer. I think it's 2 mins, right? Like in every game that separates pvp and pve, there will be a lot of people who only does one thing. and seen that DE has no reasoning as to add this map into the index but to waste players time in farming credits. brokers script has a fixed path but is broken in this map. too big for pve matches. deposit zone mark is broken at times that you gotta have a marker ammo, energy and health is still place as it was a PVP map. all this time playing and for me this maybe the first time i see DE sneaking a change in an update.
