I have been having this window pop up for me ever since I gifted my last two friends as their birthday presents. Now is giving me this window whenever I click on the Gift button even though all platinum I have gotten so far are earned through the trading section of the game fair and square, so is this like a bug? Or is this like a known issue? Am I missing something?

It might be to do with people having the Gifting option disabled. I do not know where your message is popping up.

 

If you can prove that you have not been gifted platinum (starter, Twitch, Discord etc) maybe ask Support?

Well, the message is completely correct. You do not have enough platinum to gift anything. I believe it is just telling you 'not enough platinum'.

• Is there anything you can attempt to gift that you can afford? I would suggest you try this and see what happens. I suspect it will work.
• I get that message when I try to send gifts I cannot afford. I do not get that message when I try to send gifts I can afford.

So basically if I have enough platinum I might be able to gift without this message popping up, is that correct?

Yes. I get that message when I try and gift anything I cannot buy.

I agree with you. But I do not think that is relevant here. I get the message on things I cannot afford. That seems to be the most likely reason. If OP could actually afford anything it might relate to starter plat, but three plat is too little to buy anything with.
